Warner really pis*ed me off

Didn't seem to care about what the team needed, Was more interested in getting some payback and smacking Rabada around the ground

We would have to bowl them out for less than 200 to have any chance, Even then it's a tough chase

To give ourselves a good chance we would have to bowl them out for 150 or less which I just don't see happening

Allegations of ball tampering against Bancroft now, This is the ugliest series I have ever seen

It appeared he was using something to rough the ball up and then stuck it down his pants when the umpires asked him what it was handing them his glasses case instead

I can’t believe that he’d be ball tampering in this day and age. There’s a thousand cameras and it’s just something you can’t get away with now. On the off chance that it is deliberate he should get a long holiday, for his stupidity as much as anything. There is no way that Smith would be compliant in this he’s far too smart for that.
 
And Bancroft threw his hands up.

Investigation will now revolve around Smith and Lehman you can bet! All goes back to First Test with Jeff Crowe not suspending Warner and Rabada.
 
Smith has admitted to knowing about the ball tampering, it was discussed by the leadership group.

I feel sick and extremely disappointed.

I expect Smith and Bancroft will be banned for this, so there will be at least 2 changes for the next test.

If Smith goes then Warner captain, series gone. Most likely gone now 2 not out bats very capable of piling on runs and leading by 400+ with day and half left only hope is the weather me thinks.
If both Bancroft and Smith gone will need to fly in at least one batsman.
 
The south Africans have won the psychological battle and rattled the guys into doing something stupid.
For all his good points, Smith is not the sharpest tool in the shed. The poms were making jokes about Smith being a bit thick, and he clearly is.
Hard to know where we go from here.
At least the guys have all fessed up and I suppose we cop the penalties - lose with as much grace as we can muster - and move on.

Cricket Australia will wait for an internal investigation to determine if captain Steve Smith or any of his teammates will receive additional sanctions for their actions during last night’s Test in Cape Town.

Cricket Australia's head of integrity Iain Roy and high performance manager Pat Howard will fly to South Africa to conduct the inquest, CA CEO James Sutherland said at a press conference today in Melbourne.

Sutherland said it’s a "sad day for Australian cricket”, but CA will not make any decisions "without all the facts" after Smith's stunning admission his side deliberately cheated by ball tampering.

Rookie opener Cameron Bancroft was captured by television cameras with a piece of yellow tape with chunks of the pitch on the sticky side, used to rough up the ball in an attempt to generate reverse swing on day three in Cape Town.

"I was extremely disappointed and shocked to read the news this morning after events in Cape Town," Sutherland told a packed press conference.

"Australian cricket fans want to be proud of their cricket team and this morning they have every reason to wake up and not be proud of the team.

"It's a sad day for Australian cricket.

"One of the unique things about the game of cricket is that it's to be played not only within the laws of the game but also the spirit of the game.

"Activities on the field yesterday in Cape Town were neither within the laws of the game nor within the spirit of the game.

"For us at Cricket Australia that's extremely disappointing and more importantly, for Australian cricket fans, it's extremely disappointing."

Sutherland made it clear no action will be taken by Cricket Australia with regard to the players involved until all information is collated.

"Unfortunately, that (Smith and Bancroft's admission) is not the end of it and can't be the end of it," he said.

"We have a responsibility to take this further and understand more about the issue.

"We will, over the next couple of days, get a deep understanding of what happened and why."

To Smith's credit, he didn't throw the young guy under the bus. He stood beside him and took his share of the blame.
 
Disgraceful performance. Forfeit the series and fly them home tomorrow.

All knowingly involved to get a lifetime ban.
