NRL 360 reported tonight that the Knights had a 4 year contract at 1.2 Million ready for Shaun Kenny-Dawall to sign but they have withdrawn it because of the cocaine charges.

I would've been ok with that deal. Yeah he has flippers for hands and has the occasional brain fart but he is a former kiwi, premiership winner and comes from a good system.
I wonder if they will still chase him at a reduced rate?

If they do pursue at a reduced rate I think he would be good for our younger backs. Premiership winner, and has played a lot of big matches. Look at what a second chance has done for Russell packer's game

I honestly think we've dodged a bullet there. I know he'd walk into our team as it is, but he's not the sort of player I'd want to rebuild with. The dude deadset loses matches for the roosters (and kiwis) on his own some days.

The money was probably spot on, what I wouldn't understand is the 4 years. 4 years means they genuinely rate him & want to build the club with him as a key player.

$300k for a decent first grade centre is good value. He cops a lot of **** but still does hectic things on field.

Online is saying SKD has volunteered for a hair follicle test that can detect drug use for several months.

He also had a urine test taken at the time of his arrest.

So, if he is clean from taking cocaine, does that change our outlook on chasing him. even at 300k a year it's cheap for a regular NRL player. Surely that is near minimum wage for an established NRL player.

Doesn't explain why he had it on him though!

I don't care whether he took it or not, Bottom line is he was charged with possession

Not Interested personally

I think we will see the Knights sign him once this court stuff is out of the way. Especially if he hasn't taken any.

Brown is always on about value for money signing players, obviously if we were chasing him they rate him enough to have him at least as a depth signing. $300k is bargain basement stuff and with this latest drug issue we could shave some more off that price potentially.

I don't like the guy either, but nobody is signing here and we have to make some moves!
