2017/2018 Knights Player signing speculation

Brown has a lot more riding on this than any of us. It's unlikely he'll get another NRL head coaching job if he can't make us respectable again, and he doesn't seem to be panicking. Still almost a year before kickoff 2018.
 
I've pretty much given up signing any high quality players in the near future, Until we can win more than 1 game nobody will come

Players want to play Finals, Origins, Tests and win Premierships...We offer none of those opportunities atm and rep players risk losing their spots if they do sign

Call me pessimistic but that's the way I see it unfortunately
 
As harsh as it sounds, if Brown can't attract players, we need a coach who can.
Brown has been bold in deconstructing our set up, but that's only half the job, and if he can't get the other half done, he needs to go.
No hard feelings though. He has done everything we wanted him to do so far.

what the NRL needs is a draft...it can help struggling clubs such as us as we'd get the high number of draft picks but I doubt it will happen
 
It would never be accepted relic. Take the fiasco with Bird. Imagine the big boys being restricted like that and restraint of trade laws would knock it over same as last time á lá Terry Hill.

I was meant to say drafting rookies from the U20's clubs who aren't contracted.
 
Brown should go if he can't get his rebuild done, but surely he deserves the chance to do it. No point dumping him now with the job half done and we don't know now, if he can get the job done or not!
 
I don't think anyone is saying sack him now. The NRL would have little appetite for paying out a coach regardless of how well we're going. If they only sign scrubs you would think they should be better next year, but what's the pass mark? How many wins is the target? So far it's;
2016 - free pass

Yep I am sure players like Evans and Napa were approached to see if they would leave sydney and probably said no.
 
He is absolutely terrible and wanted $300k to play for the eels in 2018. There is nothing moneyball about it. Kostjaysn isn't much of a hooker but rein is much much worse.
