2017/2018 Knights Player signing speculation

I wouldn't say its been a failure for penrith at all, at seasons start they were premiership favourites. And on paper are arguably the strongest side in the competition. If only we were enough of a failure to recruit guys like merrin, peachy and as much as i dont rate the bloke tamou. Te maire martin another quality signing, watching him in 20s you could easily tell the kid was class. Add to that lower level signings like latu, akouola, hiku, whare, wallace, browne & rein.

I think browny is doing recruitment all around the wrong way personally. Going after out n out stars of the game after we've come off consecutive spoons and well on the way to a third isn't exactly a selling point.

Look on the market for our versions of hiku, whare, rein, browne and start competing then maybe snag a few peachys and martins while they're young then go hard after the rep quality players. Gould was wise enough to call it a 5 year plan but unfortunately brown is trying to accelerate it in 2 years... not gonna happen unfortunately

I would not pay much attention to who the bookies see as premiership favourites remember we were favourites heading into 2012 and finished bottom four. Penrith are putting together a solid squad but they did not simply go after potential and bargain buys to start their rebuild they chased JT and others plus signed Soward( who was still an expensive player at the time), Wallace a few years after playing origin and established at Brisbane, Whare who was a test player and Idris. They also signed established quality players like Sika Manu, Brent Kite, Segayaro and Lewis brown. It would wrong to say Oenrith did not chase high profile players to make them a more attractive club.

Skd is a great player, he tries hard which can lead to mistakes but if he gets it right he can be very good and win games out of nothing.

Fergo has his moments but goes missing very very often and is a poor defender.

Maybe in 2010 but he's a fair dinkum liability now. Ferguson was Australia's best player at the 4 Nations last year.

Yea SKD is what we really need a winger who makes constant errors bringing the ball off his own line. Bloke looks average getting served quality ball from Keary and Pearce how do you think he will go getting ball from Lamb and Hodko.

Ferguson actually averages 119m a game when you include this weeks game in which he ran for 219m compared to SKDs 110m and really the winger should be making more metres a game since they are making the kick returns. If you were to compare SKD to Ross it shows Ross as averaging 165m a game compared to SKDs 122m, Ross has also made more line breaks than SKD. Sio as averages more metres a game than SKD averageing 133m a game.

SKD has gone backwards and fast, his runs can still cause trouble for the defense yes. But his hands are among the worst in the entire nrl, be it in contact or just trying to liturally catch the ball he's suspect. Not to mention he throws awful passes highlighted by the one he threw to darius boyd in finals series in 2015.

Got rocks in your noggin if youd rather skd over tupou or Ferguson. Having tupou on our wing would be our most dangerous attacking weapon. We suck majorly with direction in attacking ball so atleast we could kick it up for tups. Oh no wait a sec, hokko would probs pass to sione or peat for a grubber lol

U mean pass to sione for a 5th tackle 2m out no kick at all "safe play"

SKD has been one of the Roosters worst this season. He is their version of Aku. Has lost them games by his feet for hands. I can't stand Ferguson but I'd take him or Tupou (whose been playing quite well so far) over SKD any day.
