The Fijians are in a massive form slump now. Do or death now, have to hit form immediately or we're gone.

    WEEK 1 FINALS

The Hayne Planes v The Packdogs

Shaun Johnson kicks off and we are underway!

1: Planes come out firing and march up the field with some big runs by Linnett

8: End to end stuff from both teams, Packdogs find some space down the right edge and almost trap Hayne in his in goal

10: The Haynes Planes working it out of their end before Linnett splits the defence open and runs in a 70 metre TRY

11: Michael Gordon converts and Planes lead 6-0

14: The Hayne Planes finding easy metres up the right edge again through Linnett and Proctor before this time Watene-Zelezniak pokes through and gets an offload off to McCullough who runs in the clear for a TRY

15: Michael Gordon misses the conversion, Hayne Planes lead 10-0

22: Packdogs force an error through a big hit on McCullough by Manu Ma’u and they finally have some good field position, 30 metres away from the Planes try line

23: Shaun Johnson puts the ball up high, James Roberts outjumps everybody to knock it back into the hands of Semi Radradra who dives straight over for a TRY

24: Johnson nails the sideline conversion and it’s 10-6 to the Hayne Planes

30: That try has put a rocket behind the Packdogs and they are finding plenty of space up the field after spending the opening 20 in their own half

40: The Pacdogs spend the last 10 minutes with majority of possession and looking to convert it into points but the Hayne Planes defence holds out and they go to half-time 10-6 to the Planes

    -

The second half is back underway

45: After some good completed sets by both sides, Johnson knocks the ball on cold on his own 40 and the Planes are instantly on the attack

47: Packdogs again force the error, this time Watmough puts a huge shot on Josh McGuire who fumbles and the Packdogs are off the hook

52: Andrew McCullough makes a huge break from dummy half down the centre of the field but Koroibete gets to him just in time to pull him down on the 10 metre line. The Packdogs will do well to not give up a try here

53: The pressure becomes too much for the Packdogs and Gordon runs left, finding the man who started it McCullough who dives over for a TRY

54: Michael Gordon misses his attempt at goal and the Hayne Planes lead 14-6

56: Johnson holds down McLean and gives away a penalty late in the set. The Planes will have the ball deep in Packdogs half

57: Sezer throws everything at the Packdogs defensive line before Mullen puts up a kick, Wighton backs it back to Hayne but he is held up just before the line. Packdogs doing well to hold on there

58: Packdogs work it back out of their own 20 but Todd Carney gets the ball taken from his hands and the Planes will instantly go back on the attack close to the line

60: Again the pressure becomes too much for the Packdogs line defence and Josh McGuire crashes over under the posts for a TRY

61: Michael Gordon easily converts from infront and the Planes lead 20-6

65: The crowd roars as both teams turn up the attack late in the game, going end to end and offloading at will

67: Radradra hits Watene-Zelezniak high as he’s returning a kick and gives away a penalty

68: Matt Cooper drags Watene-Zelezniak over the sideline and the Packdogs have to score in this next set

69: Todd Carney makes a break off the scrum feed and passes it onto Watmough who gets dragged down 20 metres out. Some impressive attack but they just can’t get through

71: The Hayne Planes return fire and break their way up the field. Jarrod Mullen kicks for Hayne who goes inches away from scoring but gets dragged back and the Packdogs get the ball

72: Anthony Watmough does it all himself, stepping two players on his own 40 metre line and races away to score a TRY

73: Shaun Johnson misses the conversion and the Hayne Planes lead 20-10

75: The Packdogs attempt an intercept which would have lead to a certain try but they instead knock on and it’s 6 again for the Planes

77: This time the intercept is successful for the Packdogs and Tomkins runs 60 metres before Jarryd Hayne closes in and brings him down

80: The Packdogs continue to try for another try but the hooter sounds and it’s game over. The Hayne Planes 20, The Packdogs 10. The Hayne Planes now get the week off while the Packdogs will go on to verse Rocks RLFC.

    The Hayne Planes 20 (A.McCullough 2 tries, K.Linnett 1 try, J.McGuire 1 try; M.Gordon 2 goals)

The Flying Fijians have fired up! Hopefully not another fluke, it'll be a big ask to get up again for another game & then play in the Grand Final if they are to win.

A couple of really close games too between the heavyweights Rocks vs Packdogs & Rocks vs Soldiers, really enjoyed the commentary on those Junior11, honestly makes it feel like it's a real game reading minute by minute on the edge of your seat action.

20: Mansour makes a break and gets it away to Ferguson but he’s brought down by Hayne and the Fijians are still on the attack

21: Foran puts in a nice grubber but it has a little too much on it and it goes dead

35: Michael Gordon breaks the game back open with a cut-out pass by Sezer and they follow it up by a huge run by Gavin Cooper

36: The Flying Fijians showing some nerve in defence since they let the early try in, they turn the Planes away and work the ball out of their own end

39: Willie Mason knocks the ball on his own 10 metre line but the Hayne Planes won’t have much time before the siren to make the most of it. Jarryd Hayne goes for the field goal but misses to the left

40: Half-time, it’s been more of a slog than any of the finals so far with some exciting play from both teams. The Hayne Planes look to be well on top but the Fijian’s attitude in defence has turned right around and they’re looking the more aggressive

51: The Fijians spread it left early in the set and Foran gets it onto Mansour and he breaks free from tackles, running 40 metres before being smashed by Hayne

52: Foran takes the tap and passes to Elgey who finds Josh Hodgson and Hodgson goes straight under the posts for a TRY

    53: Kane Elgey converts and it’s 12-6

60: Mason makes a huge charge up the middle but gets a high shot for his troubles. The Fijians will get the ball back in the Planes 20

68: Kane Elgey misses from the sideline, the Fijians take the lead 14-12

72: Oh! Jarryd Hayne makes up for his earlier error and gets a one-on-one steal from Boyd and the Hayne Planes are deep on the attack

74: They have switched roles! Kane Linnett puts up the bomb and the only player contesting it is Jarrod Mullen who comes down with it for a TRY

75: Michael Gordon misses the conversion and the Hayne Planes take back the lead again 16-14

77: The Hayne Planes complete their set after points and now the Flying Fijians will have their last attempt to pull out a win. All the Planes have to do is hold on and they go through to the Grand Final

79: They have actually done it! Flying Fijians with a frenzy of offloads splits the Planes defence and Brenton Lawrence dives in the corner for a miracle try

80: Kane Elgey hits the conversion and it’s all over, the Flying Fijians defeat The Hayne Planes 20-16. That was worthy of any real NRL game highlights wheel. What a game, congrats to both sides it was fun for me to watch your teams go for it. The Flying Fijians go through to the 2016 Grand Final

I just whacked up the winning try on youtube quickly incase anyone wanted to see it. Apologies for the numbers on the jerseys not being seen, I completely forgot about the number colours when I originally made the jerseys at the start of all this but I'll get them fixed up for the grand final!

Feel bad for @gids, so close mate! You may be unlucky with a possible little knock on there by the Fijians haha

Thanks mate, I'm happy to know it isn't a waste of time  I have enjoyed it.

You've definitely done it the hard way, that huge run of form and then dropping off a bit but hard fought wins to get you into the Grand Final. Congrats @josh2010 too, you finished below the others but you've fought just as hard if not harder for your place, both well earned!! Looking forward to the big game on Monday!!

Holy moly, that was an intense read, once it got to 12-0 I thought here we go, it's over now & my team would go down seemingly gritting away & punching to the end but not being able to catch up. Then it really was over with the Mullen try with 5 minutes to go! Tough effort to close up the lead, still not enough to win it though, before snagging that dying seconds try! That's crazy, has to be the toughest game the Fijians have grinded out a win to so far, Hayne Planes really took it to us & made our season flash before our eyes. We don't seem to be as flashy as we might have been earlier in the season, but they're showing a bit of grit now, very unexpected Grand Final I think, 4th vs 6th. Fijians just fighting away & Thurston inspiring his team to the Grand Final once more.
