PRELIMINARY FINALS
Flying Fijians v The Hayne Planes
Michael Gordon will kick off to get us underway! Who will be joining Rocks RLFC in the Grand Final??
2: Flying Fijians open the game with a quality set and the Planes will work it out of their 20 through Jarryd Hayne
5: Simon Mannering takes a huge hit up and he doesn’t need any help, he runs straight through the Fijians and the rest of the field for a TRY
6: Michael Gordon nails the conversion and The Hayne Planes lead 6-0 early on
8: Fijians will need to quickly sort out their defence as the Planes continue to easily find big metres up the field and now Barba gives away a penalty
10: The Hayne Planes attack the Fijians line but McGuire knocks it on and now the Fijians race up the middle of the field through Foran and Mansour
17: The Fijians look to be warming up to the challenge now, their defence has tightened right up and they’re starting to punish the attack. Planes with alot of possession and looking threatening every time
20: Mansour makes a break and gets it away to Ferguson but he’s brought down by Hayne and the Fijians are still on the attack
21: Foran puts in a nice grubber but it has a little too much on it and it goes dead
32: Both teams just looking to complete their sets, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves with some big runs and hits but the line-breaks have dried up and it’s turning into a real slog
35: Michael Gordon breaks the game back open with a cut-out pass by Sezer and they follow it up by a huge run by Gavin Cooper
36: The Flying Fijians showing some nerve in defence since they let the early try in, they turn the Planes away and work the ball out of their own end
39: Willie Mason knocks the ball on his own 10 metre line but the Hayne Planes won’t have much time before the siren to make the most of it. Jarryd Hayne goes for the field goal but misses to the left
40: Half-time, it’s been more of a slog than any of the finals so far with some exciting play from both teams. The Hayne Planes look to be well on top but the Fijian’s attitude in defence has turned right around and they’re looking the more aggressive
-
Kieran Foran gets us back underway, a huge second half coming up!!
42: Flying Fijians falling back into their old ways and have given away an unnecessary penalty in the first set
44: Jack Wighton looking dangerous through the left edge and the Planes are 20 metres out from the Fijians line
45: McCullough goes from dummy-half and gets it onto Wighton who finds Michael Gordon back on his inside and he dives over for a TRY
46: Michael Gordon converts his own try and the Hayne Planes lead 12-0
48: The Fijians muscle up and keep the Planes deep in their own half but they knock on as soon as they get the ball back through Eastwood
49: The errors creeping into both sides now as Gavin Cooper puts it down and Idris is allowed to play on
51: The Fijians spread it left early in the set and Foran gets it onto Mansour and he breaks free from tackles, running 40 metres before being smashed by Hayne
52: The Planes give away a penalty and the Fijians will have a full set just 20 metres out
52: Foran takes the tap and passes to Elgey who finds Josh Hodgson and Hodgson goes straight under the posts for a TRY
53: Kane Elgey converts and it’s 12-6
60: Mason makes a huge charge up the middle but gets a high shot for his troubles. The Fijians will get the ball back in the Planes 20
62: Tariq Sims makes the most of the Planes staggered defence and pushes away a defender close to the line and goes over for a TRY
63: Kane Elgey pushes his conversion slightly right and misses. The Hayne Planes lead 12-10
67: Gordon gets it onto McCullough for a break but gets flattened by Darius Boyd. Gordon then goes from dummy half and tries to get it to Hayne who is in the clear but Hayne knocks on and Jamal Idris picks it up and races away for a TRY
68: Kane Elgey misses from the sideline, the Fijians take the lead 14-12
72: Oh! Jarryd Hayne makes up for his earlier error and gets a one-on-one steal from Boyd and the Hayne Planes are deep on the attack
74: They have switched roles! Kane Linnett puts up the bomb and the only player contesting it is Jarrod Mullen who comes down with it for a TRY
75: Michael Gordon misses the conversion and the Hayne Planes take back the lead again 16-14
77: The Hayne Planes complete their set after points and now the Flying Fijians will have their last attempt to pull out a win. All the Planes have to do is hold on and they go through to the Grand Final
79: They have actually done it! Flying Fijians with a frenzy of offloads splits the Planes defence and Brenton Lawrence dives in the corner for a miracle try
80: Kane Elgey hits the conversion and it’s all over, the Flying Fijians defeat The Hayne Planes 20-16. That was worthy of any real NRL game highlights wheel. What a game, congrats to both sides it was fun for me to watch your teams go for it. The Flying Fijians go through to the 2016 Grand Final

I just whacked up the winning try on youtube quickly incase anyone wanted to see it. Apologies for the numbers on the jerseys not being seen, I completely forgot about the number colours when I originally made the jerseys at the start of all this but I'll get them fixed up for the grand final!

A couple of really close games too between the heavyweights Rocks vs Packdogs & Rocks vs Soldiers, really enjoyed the commentary on those @
Junior11, honestly makes it feel like it's a real game reading minute by minute on the edge of your seat action.
Thanks mate, I'm happy to know it isn't a waste of time
I have enjoyed it.
You've definitely done it the hard way, that huge run of form and then dropping off a bit but hard fought wins to get you into the Grand Final. Congrats @
josh2010 too, you finished below the others but you've fought just as hard if not harder for your place, both well earned!! Looking forward to the big game on Monday!!
