Tariq? Really?

Every Club except the Worriers and the Broncs get a representation. Only way we could get anyone in and I guess Korbin who would be my first choice is going to be suspended?

Eh, it's fair enough I think. Sione has looked alright this season but he's had maybe 4 or 5 good games in 18 months? Aitken had a good season last year. In a few more years Sione will easily make this side.

Methinks you are wrong there Joshhhh. Korbin qualifies for Queensland and has been 18/19 man.

For mine cowboyman Kane would be first centre picked for NSW. Rough big tough attacker and very solid defender. Knows JT's and Morgan's plays. Streets ahead of Jennings who is a lair.

you don't make rep teams with 2 line breaks since 2014.

Lol this is Aitken we're talking about, this year Sione has been one of our top performing players. This is just my opinion though and you basing his form from those stats does make sense. I'm sure 90% of teams would rather Sione over Aitken in their roster, let's be honest here.

It will be interesting to see how many players withdraw this year, Happens all the time with this game unfortunately

Teams have been updated after the Jake Trbojevic and Mitch Rein both withdrew

City Origin coach Brad Fittler says rules around fixture must be overhauled so players are made available

BRAD Fittler has demanded the annual City-Country match be overhauled -- or scrapped entirely -- after being handed the most anonymous representative side in NRL history.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal the 2016 City Origin side is officially the most inexperienced in the 15 years since the annual NSW Origin trial was revived in 2001.

Incredibly, nine of the players under Fittler’s charge boast 40 NRL games or less -- with Roosters centre Ryan Matterson, Manly forward Addin Fonua-Blake and Penrith prop Leilani Latu owning only 18 games combined.

Speaking yesterday, Fittler revealed how, in the 48 hours prior to the City side being announced, he wasn’t even sure they would field a team following the withdrawal of a dozen superstars including Matt Moylan, James Tedesco, Adam Reynolds, Lachlan Coote, Blake Austin and Josh Reynolds.

While some of those players, like Wests Tigers fullback Tedesco, have obvious injuries, other withdrawals have been viewed with far more scepticism.

Indeed, CRL boss Terry Quinn has requested a meeting with NRL CEO Todd Greenberg to determine what, if any, sanctions can be placed on clubs in the future who refuse to release players for the game.

Fittler, meanwhile, suggested selections for the event had become so “erratic”, an independent official should be appointed to determine which players were fit enough to play.

“The big issue for me is that there’s very little protocol and control around this weekend,’’ Fittler said.

“It’s hard for the NRL to be strong on erratic behaviour when you come to a week like this and everything is erratic.

“It’s crazy.

“The league has to take some sort of stance.

“Either get rid of the game, move it or ... take the coaches out of the play.

“If the coaches don’t have a choice then they don’t have a choice.

“I mean, the coaches are well within their rights (to withdraw players).

“The life of a coach these days, if you’re not 100 per cent thinking about your team then you’re out of a job and your family is without a livelihood.

“That’s why someone has to sit above them. Step in and put parameters around everyone’s actions.”

Boasting 11 debutants and only 818 NRL games in experience, this year’s City Origin side is the most inexperienced in NRL history.

Worse, it continues a downward spiral after last year’s City side (957 games) also held the same title.

Asked if he was frustrated by the number of injury withdrawals, Fittler continued:

“I was frustrated two days ago but now I’m fine.

“I knew what was coming a long way back. But that’s cool.

“At stages it was hard to find a team.”

When it was suggested the game was set for the scrapheap within two years, Fittler replied: “But should it be?

“I think the NRL needs to take a real close look at this concept. Take more control.

“I think everyone just wished it worked.”

With a career spanning 336 NRL games, Fittler alone boasts more games than 13 of his City Origin players combined.

Among the more inexperienced players are Eels winger Clint Gutherson, who boasts 14 games, Rabbitohs lock Nathan Brown (16) and Wests Tigers forward Kyle Lovett (30).

Captain Chris Lawrence is the only player in triple figures, with his 180 games making up almost 25 per cent of the total.

Is it just me or does the looks both look a bit dull this year? I generally love this fixture, more than the test match but this year idk I think the could have done better
