Australia still probably have about five times as many NRL players to choose from as NZ, and besides that the Kiwis were missing:
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
Jared Waerea-Hargreaves
Ben Matulino
Konrad Hurrell
Issac Luke
Dallin Watene-Zalzaniak
Sam Moa
Sonny Bill Williams
Elijah Taylor
Sam Kasiano
Frank Pritchard
Jeremy Smith
All either initially selected or in the side last year and would be there if available this year, and are now either injured, suspended, left the sport or changed allegiances.
Well, Jeremy Smith last played for the Kiwis in 2012, but I had to include him since this is a Knights forum.
Players missing isn't an excuse for either side, imo.
It's a fact that a severely weakened Kiwis beat a severely weakened Australian side.
Both teams affected no doubt but Australia affected way more and not just in the forwards
Anyway as I said before, NZ deserved the win and well done to them we were poor and they were the better team
Not making excuses either, I'm simply pointing out the effect all of the injuries have had on Australia
With their player base and the similar amount of players out, they actually should have been less affected.
