I find it a bit suss considering Gaz's contract is heavily backloaded. I suspect they can afford to re-sign whoever they need and maybe find someone else. I always though Gaz would outlast Cooper but I guess that's not the case. It's a bit surprising and strange but I guess he made a lot of money out of Union and will no doubt get well paid work in retirement.
 
anyone heard anything on alex mckinnion signing with us? i think he is a very good buy if we get him and wtf with gaz i just heard it on the radio he is still young and has years left in him. money on a comeback like mat rogers

Freddy confirmed he will be with us from 2012, said so during the Dragons game. Not sure how long he has signed though.
 
Reassuring, but hopefully some confirmation comes that he has signed soon. If it's just agreed to terms, the Dragons may make a counter offer!

edit: Moore has quit the Dogs, the article came out after the twitter rumours. Looks like after the Storm game he was told he was not required beyond 2011.

Have to feel for the guy a little, seemed like a good bloke, and possibly a decent coach given time. Coaching is so damn high pressure these days.
Apparently he's unfairly under more pressure because the old board hired him? Bit like the DA situation.

Hoffman was essentially forced out because of the salary cap rorting melbourne did. They couldnt afford to keep him for this year when they had to make there new roster. Now with Blair gone they can.

For the rest of them its probably cos they think its gonna be all good there then after a few months they realise being away from friends and family living in a miserable cold place it aint so much fun.

Thats where people's opinions begin to divide lol some want 1.Boyd 6. Mullen 7. Gidley 9. Buderus 14. Stig and some want 1. Boyd 6. Stig 7. Mullen 9. Gidley 14. Buderus

Either way we can't lose, both spines look great to me
 
I've been told we'll be announcing the Cuthbertson signing within the next 7 days lol

Everyone keeps saying that and I'm not really sure why. Taufua's already signed with Sharks. Not really an either/or proposition.

Would much prefer Stig re-signed and the Buderus situation soughted out and have him signed if that is the direction it takes before we sign Cuthbertson. We need the former two in the 25 more the Cutherbertson and with all the signings and resignings we have already done we must be reaching close to our 25 quota and our salary capr limit.

Guess it depends on whether McKinnon and Rochew are part of the 25 or are on 2nd tier contracts. And how much of Paterson, Henry, Taufua etc's contracts we are paying out and for how long, if at all.

I agree I'd much rather get the Stig situation sorted and get him re-signed long term and also focus on bringing in a quality hooker whether it be Buderus or Friend or whatever then to shift our attention onto Cuthbertson who I don't see a need for and aren't necessarily the biggest fan of.

I'd also venture a guess off McKinnon being in the top 25 and Rochew having a second tier contract. I'd be pretty confident of that.
