Would be happy with Vave coming back. Would be a top quality signing compared to what we are used to. Considering Leary is always out in the press saying how much we want to buy fringe first graders and stuff like that.

I really want Penrith to target Greg Bird this year rather than a heap of crap second rowers etc. Re-sign Plum, Waterhouse and a few others and sign Bird and we have a backrow that looks something like:
11. Bird
12. Waterhouse
13. Lewis

Thats quality right there.

Lol @ Bird to Penrith.

One of him, Bailey or Laffranchi will have to go, Bird would be the first resigned out of the bunch IMO!

Massive money = $800k over 3 years.

Are you sure Souths are under the cap if they get Lima?

Well, that figure was thrown to the media anyway ;)

Dunno, Lima isnt liking England wants to come back to Aus with Maguire. Souths have a few very close to retirement

Its not a rumour or anything but I have heard that he isn't all that happy at the Gold Coast and wants to move back to Sydney. Penrith is a Sydney club so its possible . I would take Laffranchi happily though in place of Bird, former representative player and he is still quite a good player.

Just my wish list, would love some players like Gagai, Ta'ai, Fifita, Shaun Johnson and others.. there are so many top players that are a perfect fit for Penrith at the moment.

Bird has done zero at the Titans, I dont know if it is just the Goldy, but he has been well below average in the time he has ben there.

Rumours

Wes Naiqama > Bulldogs
Lachlan Coote > St George, Roosters or Rabbitohs
Tim Lafai > Eels
Will Hopoate > Eels
Chris Sandow > Eels
Joel Clinton > Souths

manly would be silly to let hopoate go to the eels

where are the rabbits getting all this money from and didn't i hear that ryan hoffman was linked to the rabbits aswell

Where did you hear the Coote one from? He signed a 4 or 5 year deal at the end of last season.

Sydney Morning Herald - mind you it was Weedler.

Contracts mean nothing these days. Gordon needs to be Fullback for Penrith... Coote would fit in well at any of the other sides mentioned.

Lafai looks like he will have a Permanent spot in top grade next year with Idris leaving Bulldogs but money talks these days. If Parra chase Hoppa hard, it will cost a bit and they are known for paying overs (See Mortimer, Poore etc)

Yeah true about Coote. He is never going to be a great fullback though. Would love him to be trained in the halves. His defence may not be up to it but he is probably the most creative of the FG options we have now.

MEDIA RELEASE
Tuesday, April 26 – Panthers Chairman Don Feltis and Rugby League CEO Michael Leary have this morning informed Head Coach Matthew Elliott, the coaching staff and players that the Panthers Board has resolved to appoint a new coach for 2012 and beyond.

Big news there. Shouldn't be too long until the new coach will be announced. I am thinking it will either be Nathan Brown or Steve Georgallis. Hopefully Brown.

Rick Stone mate lol

I'd take Stone over Georgallis. We need a new coach and a new coaching structure. Keen for Brown but wouldn't be too disappointed if we got Stone... as long as he brings some coaching staff. Just need a total change in coaches.

Yes, Elliott has definatly became stale and a change is just what you guys need. What about Bennett ? oh he signed with us lol.

yeah I think stone would be good down at penrith...

We just need some fresh ideas. Same thing started to happen here before Smith signed with the Roosters.

One of the reasons why I would rather Stone over Georgallis. They say Georgallis will be a good head coach but I feel that he may still have some of the same ideas that Elliot had. We need to get as far away from there as possible.

Fresh ideas from Stone, Brown etc would be the go.
