Something is up at Manly, I'm still adamant they are over the cap, now some idiot on their board decides to sign Hoppa's son on a deal fit for a king.

Interesting news with Ryles is that he is in talks with Kev Walters who will be coach of Catalans next season, Kev has made him a priority signing saying he likes how he plays.

Jacob Lillyman > Warriors (Confirmed)

North Queensland backrower Jacob Lillyman has signed with the New Zealand Warriors on a two-year contract beginning next season, the NRL club says.

Lillyman, 24, who has played four times for the Queensland State of Origin side, will give the Warriors four players with Origin experience next year.

He will link up with current Queensland representatives Steve Price and Brent Tate as well as former representative Nathan Fien.

Lillyman's arrival will follow the departures of veteran backrowers Logan Swann and Wairangi Koopu at the end of this season.

Lillyman has made 62 appearances for the North Queensland Cowboys and is noted for his defensive qualities.

He played in game one of this year's Origin series, but was dropped for Queensland's series-tying win over New South Wales last week.

Lillyman said the feedback from former Cowboys who had moved to the Warriors had helped him with his decision.

"But most of all, I like what's happening at the club," he said.

"They've got a really good set-up with their coaching staff and squad."

Coach Ivan Cleary said Lillyman's signing would help the Warriors build for the future.

"He's a top-quality defender who's still young but gives us representative experience and a great work ethic."

Disappointing to hear about Ryles, i really like the guy.

Geez $300 grand!! I didnt think willie was that good, ive played against him a couple of times. surely it would be a contract inbetween 5 and 8 years?

apparantly hopa's son is on 220k for 3 yrs (still way to much for a 16 yr old) but he has incentives to earn more

Colin Best (Raiders) has signed with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Best signs with South Sydney

WIN TV Canberra News reported tonight that Canberra Raiders three quarter, Colin Best has signed with the South Sydney Rabbitohs for next season.

Meanwhile centre Joel Monaghan will undergo a fitness test in the morning in a bid to face the Bulldogs on Saturday night.

Monaghan is still suffering from a hamstring strain but is hopeful of being right to play.

“I haven’t trained all week so I’m not sure how it’s going to go at training, so I’m going to do a fitness test in the morning and we’ll make the decision after that” Monaghan said at Raiders HQ today.

If Monaghan is ruled out, Brett Kelly will step up. He had last week off with an infected hand which almost cost him the loss of his finger.

“If the infection had got right into the bone, yeah, they would have had to, but it was only just on the edge so a few courses of intravenous antibiotics and I’m sweet” Kelly said.

On the signing front, talks with Terry Campese’s manager have stalled, but talks have continued with the player himself. It is believed his management is speaking with other clubs, but it is hoped something can be arranged here by next week.

Today, winger/centre Colin Best signed a deal with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, turning down a one year deal with Canberra.

JASON Ryles has today signed a three-year deal worth $1.7 million with UK Super League outfit Les Catalans.

The powerful prop is currently in his first year of a three-season contract with St George Illawarra, but was given permission to negotiate overseas several months ago.

He will head to France next season, leaving the door open for the Dragons to sign Melbourne second rower Jeremy Smith.
