2008 Average Attendances

Wouldnt bother! It will probably be one of those boring games, with heaps of turn overs.

I just need the Raiders to win coz i tipped em

I reckon Canberra will carve up at home! They only just went down to Melbourne at Bruce a few weeks ago, and that was their only home loss for the season.

Im hoping raiders win :)
backed them in the tips & my family have been teasing me tonight about knights loosing & most them are bunnies supporters haha.

So, these are the current home crowd averages of each team (with Canberra still to play tonight) and where Newcastle stands, in comparison to the other 15 sides:

Brisbane 35,861
Gold Coast 23,095
Bulldogs 20,774
Nth QLD 20,312
Newcastle 19,680
South Sydney 18,510
Parramatta 16,685
Wests Tigers 15,102
Cronulla 14,841
Canberra 14,063
Sydney Roosters 13,820
Melbourne 13,778
St George/Ill 13,191
Manly 12,919
Penrith 12,562
NZ Warriors 12,510

Newcastle is well poised in 5th position. If the side keeps winning, theres no reason why our end of season average won't be over 20,000. If Cowboys keep playing badly, their average will dip quite a fair bit. So will Souths.

I think you're right Jonno. 3rd is a realistic proposition. With a bit of luck, if we play extremely well in the 2nd half of the year, we've got a chance to pip the Gold Coast (both Skilled Park and EnergyAustralia Stadium have very similar capacities. Skilled Park is only has a higher capacity by about 1,000-1,500). Not to mention that if the Gold Coast start falling into a form slump (like they did last year), Skilled Park has one of the highest ticket prices out of all the grounds in the NRL. I believe the premium seats there are close to $60!!! (and thats excluding food, drinks etc., which I hear from many Titans supporters if heaps expensive in the ground).

All the teams below South Sydney should be disgraced of themselves.

If we can hit some form I think we are in with a good shot of being third or possibly second on that list, Newcastle management should realise this and try to take advantage by getting more people so they can say they have the second highest average.

Would be comforting for our sponsors too.

Doesn't matter, they have been going terrible, yet still have a high attendance average.

And yet, you have teams like Roosters, Manly and Melbourne going relatively well, yet have hopeless figures to back it up.

We were 2nd in home attendances like 2 years ago. Now the Titans are in the comp though, and they have a new stadium.
We have also dropped off a bit since then. Our figures are definately lower.

So, these are the current home crowd averages of each team after Round 10 (after Monday Night's figure at Canberra included):

Brisbane 35,861
Gold Coast 23,095
Bulldogs 20,774
Nth QLD 20,312
Newcastle 19,680
South Sydney 18,510
Parramatta 16,685
Wests Tigers 15,102
Cronulla 14,841
Sydney Roosters 13,820
Melbourne 13,778
Canberra 13,326
St George/Ill 13,191
Manly 12,919
Penrith 12,562
NZ Warriors 12,510

My predictions: Unless they can drastically turn their season around, I expect Souths average to take a fairly large dip, I expect the Cowboys and Bulldogs figure to slightly dip over the coming weeks. Our next home game is vs Warriors on a Sat Night. Depending on the weather, if it is good, I will be happy if we at least get 17-18,000 ppl to that game. Anything more than that is a bonus (especially with the weather being a lot cooler at night (this is where the QLD teams have an advantage on us, as they're closer to the equator, they don't experience the fluctuations in temperature that we do at this time of the year. Plus, they have warmer weather)), and also crowd figures generally decrease a bit during the State of Origin/Representative period). I can't remember the last time the lowest average was that high. Normally, it has been around 8-9,000 over recent years. For the Warriors to be at 12,510, yet being the lowest drawing side, that's pretty good.

South Sydney only have good average because of games against Roosters and I'm pretty sure the Bulldogs were high.

Souths have a good average, because of their first two home games there against the Roosters and Bulldogs (which both got over 20,000). Their following two home games got below 13,000. With a game in Gosford against a strong Melbourne Storm outfit this week (and considering Gosford doesn't get many games), that should keep their average relatively strong. But, after that, they will have nothing to fall back on. How many ppl they get to matches will all depend on their form from there on in, and if not careful, it could end up being very embarrasing (aka 2006).
