Remember that random player?

Couldn't agree more, loved Slade, injuries were cruel to him and could have proved quite handy over the years especially around the few years we made finals 2020, 21, 23, and especially 24. World class hooker once he got out from being stuck behind the goat of 9s at melbourne

That’s always another interesting one, how many pretty bog average guys that never came close to playing origin but still played over 200 or even 300 games just because they may be had utility value or were super durable.
John Morris is a good example.

Even in the modern game where injuries happen I do think they have it better rules wise.

I still remember Griffin’s knee injury against the Bulldogs. One of the most horrific things I’ve seen on a football field. Poor bugger.

Can’t think of his name, old age maybe, but who was the player a forward from I think Cook Islands who retired early due to personal reasons, missing home? Anxiety?
Good player but at the end his heart wasn’t in it. Was quite a few years ago

Crazy how that happened in fast motion

Then after thinking wait ankles don’t bend that way…

Then getting to watch the replays…….

Worst thing about losing Sam Mataora was we also lost his brother, Teva Mataora.
Teva scored a few of the best individual tries I've ever seen as a fullback or winger in Matts and Ball.
He seemed to just leave because his brother did.
