AUSTRALIA have had a major injury scare ahead of the Centenary Test, with half-back Jonathan Thurston taken to hospital for scans after he rolled an ankle in training.

The scans will determine the severity of any injury the playmaker might have incurred, but sources inside the Kangaroos camp have not ruled out the possibility that he will still play in the clash with New Zealand.

Melbourne Storm's Cooper Cronk has been called up to join the squad as a precaution and possible cover in the half-back role.
Arghh!! Not Cronk!
Time for Prince to take the position he throughly deserves!

I think Prince is getting it a bit rough. His form this year have proved he should be chosen, so what else does he need to do?!

There is going to be a Guard of Honor by the 10 players of the century including Johns at the SCG. Might get him to sign my jersey! I only need him to complete my 2004 Jersey!

Australian coach Ricky Stuart has phoned bemused Gold Coast wizard Scott Prince to explain the reasoning behind his shock omission from the Australian Test team.

Kangaroo halfback Johnathan Thurston looks certain to miss tomorrow night's Test after rolling his ankle at training this morning, with Storm general Cooper Cronk flying up from Melbourne to take his place.

It's the same old story for Prince, who has been brushed once again in his fruitless pursuit of representative honours.

Prince was said to be receptive of Stuart's comments during the call, which explained why Test incumbent Cronk sits above him in the national pecking order.

YaY!

No!!! I like Cronk... even in front of Prince.

Oh yeh did I mention I was going to the game :)

Good onya, it's a pity more Sydney people aren't doing the same. They are hoping for 20,000, Carr said! Very average.

Corresponding matches at Suncorp:
2005 - 40,317
2006 - 44,191
2007 - 35,241

I also read that the ARL gave the NZRL an advance on the gate takings for this game (due to NZRL financial problems), but now that the crowd is expected to be low, the NZRL have been overpaid and will have to give part of it back! Useless NZRL haha.

Didn't cronk play in the last test at no.7

thats probably why Prince didn't get a look in

Yes, he did. And that would be the main reason, along with the fact half the melb. team is in the AUS team!! Including the important combination with the No-1 Slater and No-9 Smith.

thats cool about all the melbourne players

all the better for us playing them 3 days later when they are all sore and tired ,lol
