Technical Difficulties.

I’m still getting a few database errors, so I’ve just tried changing a few settings. Let me know if you run into any problems.

I think it’s bots doing searches and going through member’s old posts, so I’ve turned off the ability for unregistered users to access that info. Hopefully that reduces the load on the servers a bit.

Edit: just saw this, yeah, that’s definitely an unusual number of guests lol

Thanks James!

I suppose I should change my standard password for all accounts from Joey9701! then…. 🤔 😂

Over 29,000 guests now … I guess this is why so many sites have introduced that “checking yours human” thing.

Dunno what the reasoning is other than places getting data for AI models or something like that? 🤔

It actual Is the whole reason for It James, I would advise that you begin to block the IP's of the web scrapers otherwise you will be upgrading the package more often than needed.

Even now you should not have needed to upgrade anything, my advice would be to force a creation of an account to view anything on the forum, that Is the best way and least technical thing you could to do to put a stop to It.

I’ve never been keen on making the forum private, I think it means people don’t stumble across the site and sign up.

But there is a free software add-on for xenforo I found last night that I could possibly install, so I’ll look into that.
