Bradman Best discussion

So if the rumours are true he’s only offered $700K by the club that is very disappointing. He’s currently on 750K his current contract, which he took unders. Surely the club should have set aside at least 800K for him. I’ll be devastated if we lose him.
Does everyone just copy everyone else's mail? Adrian Prozenko or whatever his name of the SMH said the same thing, i dont know who is copying who or which phantom agent they get their mail from, but 99% of the time it's wrong anyway.

How is Hunt costing us $700k to re-sign, what's that number based on?
As Seano reluctantly conceded, there will be plenty of clubs after him. And for good reason, how many 20 year olds are running around in the NRL with the skillset and CV of Hunt? He also has considerable upside, still so raw.

Hunt will be another season improved by the time he hits the market. If you think he won't fetch at least $600k+ by the end of next season on the open market, we'll need to just agree to disagree.

I don’t know about $700K but I think Les is right that a lot of people will be surprised by the kinds of offers Fletcher Hunt is going to get. Pretty sure Zac Hosking is on $600K for example.

Not just tries, that edge falls to pieces defensively every time Best is out.

If we're going to win the comp it's because the team is full of rep players, I don't get people being so blase about losing one of them. In any case I think he was quite right to test the market given he was asked to take a pay-cut but I think he ends up staying anyway.
That’s it.

The character & togetherness the playing group showed to get to the grand final is half the story.

The other is only actually “earning the right” for two of the thirteen tries they scored in the finals series.

Without the confidence they have in the ability to turn tiny opportunities into points, they don’t defend the way they do.

You need a hell of a lot of special attacking talent to create that much with zero platform.

Reluctantly? Lol...I was suggesting the club needed to re-sign this kid when others were saying he can't play and would never be a FGer, if you care to go back and look. But one thing I have not done is pull contract figures out of my **** to make a point... unlike some.

You've got a bee in your bonnet over numbers being thrown around for the sake of conjecture. Immediately demanding that the requisite documentary bona fides be promptly submitted for your evidentiary review.

Relax lol. If its not 700k its 600k. The point is harmless and frankly, hardly wrong.

Yep but we’re going to lose some along the way. For me, centre is a position we can afford to lose. There’s other good defensive centres out there. But of course it would suck to lose him.

Any that are as good as Best though? A soon to be 1 time Australian rep, a two time blues rep and one of the best defensive centres in the game that also provides in attack and has the perfect combination of speed and power?.

Not to mention Best defends for two every time he is out there so we won’t just need an elite defender we will need one that can defend two positions at once and read the game just as good.

I think losing Best drops us down we just don’t have anyone that comes close to Bradmans current ability.

All this just reminds me of Niukore and how much he is reportedly on

I think the posts are just another beat-up, they can’t talk about Ponga now they pick any high profile player close to negotiation date. There may be some truth more than likely a load of bull.

If we have this in the cap we offer him 800k. Then a slight rachet when the cap goes up. We should be offering him 50K more than he is currently on. The question is there any wiggle room.

Call me cynical lol, but I reckon the Sydney media are still recovering from the shock of Newcastle actually having a good season!

They’ve spent the last 5–6 years telling us Ponga had one foot out the door only for him to go and re-sign again 😂

Now Bradman’s the latest star of the Sydney media’s favourite soap opera, The Bold and the Restless Knights.

Can’t blame them really… Ponga ruined a perfectly good storyline, so someone’s gotta keep the drama going! May as well be the media flops 🤣
