Maybe the Grant to Newcastle rumours and POS to Brisbane move are linked. As in someone heard POS had been talking to Grant … and assumed at the time it was in relation to the Knights

I didn’t realise the Grant to Newcastle rumour was so strong. Who do they think we are? The roosters?

I'm sorry, a 'strong' Manly roster? LolThe Eels had sounded out Newcastle recruiter Peter O’Sullivan about a potential move, but he has opted to join Brisbane for next season. The Eels have also been eyeing off Dragons recruiter Daniel Anderson, while the Knights have made their contingency plans, knowing O’Sullivan was going to leave.
Newcastle has identified Scott Fulton and Ezra Howe as potential recruiter replacements. Howe was poised to join Perth, but that move was torpedoed after he was accused of scouting for the Bears while still on the books for the Gold Coast Titans. Fulton was chiefly responsible for assembling a strong Manly roster before a short-lived stint at the Tigers.

Just laughable!

I read one article that started with "Grant wants to join the 2027 title favourites, Knights."
I don't think it's real, but I want to frame that headline and hang it on my wall, so I'm going to bask in it all for as long as the rumour persists.

So if couldn’t keep Frizell, $$$’s surely can’t sign 2 or 3 let alone 4

Gee's he must be elite, with Smith, Sharpe and Brown on the books.
He certainly looks the goods. Obviously a long way to go though. No Gamble next year so halves depth a bit thinner.

Butler only did limited time with the top squad last pre-season because he was still at school. I suspect they used him for his excellent kicking game before Brown and Smith joined the squad.
He played 5/8 for Aus Schoolboys last week and looked OK against the physical PNG squad. Many of the young guys, including the halfback, were smashed by PNG in the schoolboys loss.

Anyone that’s seen a heap of Cup know how good Matthew Hunter is? Is he NRL quality or merely a stop gap option as worse can scenario?

I wonder if these were POS signings?
Or he had already checked out.
Maybe McKinnon.

Frizell officially signed for the Tigers for next year.
Cant underestimate what a loss that will be, to have both Gags and Frizell leaving. I'm confident we'll be fine but it shouldn't be lost on fans what they brought to the team.

They both offered a lot this year especially Gagai. Not sure that either will be able to offer the same in 27 or 28. They will be missed, but the right call imo to let them go.
