THE GRAND FINAL VS ROOSTERS ❤️💙❤️💙❤️

I don’t know how anyone can be critical of that. Yes they were completely outmuscled but they were full strength, were gifted the easiest path into the GF and we had a front row of 35 yo Frizz, reserve grade player Psaulo, and some kids.

Marzhew was against freak of nature that nobody can seemingly stop, and they only won without a DCE field goal. Neither of them will be there next year

I honestly have no idea how they didn’t concede more tries, especially at the end, they were completely gassed.

Any other team would’ve lost by a lot more

Props to Cant tonight too. Thought he was great in that opening stint.

I’m a little salty at that ball that bounces off
the crossbar and just the freakish things Mark Nawa… does.
That’s a lot of luck going their way with those.

I feel like our kicking game is our one area that we need to work on.

DCE just had so much time.
Smith seemingly kicking it before it reaches his hands. Looks like he’s barely setting himself due to the kick pressure.
Certainly helps when you have Mark Nawa to aim at.

gutted. But so proud. What a ride.

Well that’s just a horrid take on Croker and Marzhew, To’o is probably around the same size as him and will go down as one of if not the greatest winger in history. Not much you can do when marky mark is leaping for a ball especially when they are targeting it on almost every attacking kick.

Croker is one of our hardest workers and does a lot of the distributing in the middle that helps us get to our strike players on our edges. A great ball player for a middle and comes up with a huge effort play almost every game. Just unfortunate that he made a couple of errors tonight in carries.
Two knock ons in the first half by croker doing routine hit ups. No comparison to someone like Yeo or Murray. Marzew probably came up second best in 10+ contested bombs. Might not be a popular opinion but guys like mark, sualli, Folau, Coates etc do a lot better than the really short guys. Both have their strengths but really need to develop our squad to be competitive at that level in my opinion.

IMO next time we play roosters they continuing to kick to Greg and he will have lost a lot of confidence from that game. Defence eyes will also light up when they see croker run the ball.

Completely disagree. We had no reason to be there had massive outs the whole finals but still managed to come within 1 point. I see similar to when Penrith lost to Melbourne. There is not doubt we have a top 4 team and we will be by the bookies, media, etc.
I agree, i think we are entering a real window of being great. It just takes alot to get to the GF. Look at the Roosters for example. Rort the salary cap (lol), and it took them 7 years to make another GF.

Massive game from our side. At the ground was evident that Robbo had really done some homework on our edge attack. Was almost out and in at times and I think we finally unlocked it with the angle of Frankie’s run with our first. Occasionally went back on that inside channel but not often enough and I think running into a few dead ends discouraged us a little from the constant shifts - and if this finals series has shown much it is if you can win the game style you are a good way there.

Can’t speak highly enough of our ability to hang in there though - I always felt we’d have one last surge but we were just that point behind. Crowd was awesome - I had an absolute peanut of a Rooster fan who’d had a skinful and seemed intent on inciting a punch up next to me. Was hoping the result might shut him up but alas. Great to see our fans hang around to cheer our team post game - a lot of other sides would pack up shop and disappear. We got more rugby league fans than most I reckon. Proud to be a Knights fan tonight!

Onwards to next year. I know Toia probably got the chocolates v Best tonight but for me he is close to our most pivotal player the way he keeps that left side together - when he is out we really battle - so hope we can resign him for a few more years.

Off for a few nightcaps and to reflect on a great season. I’m only new to this forum but it’s been a pleasure reading all the comments all year. I never knew so many Knights fans exist in all sorts of places so thanks @jamesgould and all contributors for the ride. We will be back!

Very proud of the boys. All heart and effort, which is all anyone can ask. If we had been in the same injury/suspension scenario as the Rorters we win the game.
I feel that our road to the GF took too much of a toll fatigue wise, especially playing 40 minutes against the Panthers without Phoenix last week, and we were gassed after 30 minutes tonight. To hold on and nearly beat the fully fit Rorters is a massive badge of honour for our young forwards.
I am confident that next year will bring more success, but with that comes expectation, something new for the team and club to deal with.
Ponga clearly our best tonight, and although I have been as critical of him as anyone in previous years, he has matured and is as good a leader as we have had since Bedsy retired.
And at the risk of being controversial ,I felt the ref had a good game tonight and was fair to both sides. I thought he might bin Ponga for the shoulder to the head in the first half, but he held his nerve and just penalised him. 6 agains were kept to a minimum too, and he let the game flow.
It’s been a great season for us, no one was expecting us to play in the finals , let alone the GF. We have the club spirit back, when it seemed dead and buried.
I’m very satisfied with our performance and achievement this year. We go again in 2027.

On my way home.
Was a bit of a daze. Felt like we just could never get in it and the Roosters were starting every set on their 30. Their forward had a roll and Mark vs Greg was always going to be that way.

So proud of the boys. This was an unexpected ride and me and the family were lucky enough to be there live the past two weeks. I feared we played our GF last week and thought we did incredibly well to only lose by a field goal.

We go again.

Yeah dunno what it looked like on the TV but that was the game when not having Jacob, Trey and Dylan Brown finally hurt us I think.

Surreal feeling that the final scoreline was 1 point. We looked ****ing cooked after that opening onslaught.

I think the Roosters did their homework on our backline shifts better than anyone else, their line speed was suffocating everywhere not just through the middle. I know we had some joy moving the ball late on but I suspect part of that is the Roosters finally relaxing a bit up by 7. They hit hard and wrapped up the ball constantly.

But **** me. One of their tries came off a deflection off the posts. We really, really nearly nicked it.
