THE GRAND FINAL VS ROOSTERS ❤️💙❤️💙❤️

At some point, injuries and suspensions need to be taken into account.

We've been playing without Saifiti, Mooney and Brown. We've done well, but its required herculean efforts in 3 back to back games, something which will tax the younger guys. Now we've lost Crossy.

Against a fresh, explosive, in form and full strength Roosters pack. Somethings gotta give. The odds being offered by bookies are on point imo

I'm on the same line of thinking, Crossland out for me Is the bridge to far for us this Sunday.

If we keep doing what we are doing with regards to attacking the edges In our end we will definitely make a contest of this.

However, there Is a massive caveat to all of this and more Importantly whether or not we win this Sunday depends on It.

My biggest fear Is although all of us like to think "we are In Premiership Window" the fact of the matter Is It doesn't mean jack should we not be able to finish the job.

We can win as many prelims with 12 men and do the Impossible up until the final day but the entire season doesn't mean anything If we aren't the ones lifting that trophy.

The caveat I'm refering to Is not taking the field and Isn't even a player.

It's Justin Holbrook, he Is In my opinion the only person In the organisation that can get us across the line this Sunday.

Couldn’t disagree more with this tbh.

It has meant so much already. That won’t change if they happen to lose on the weekend.

Two teams enter that field every game, sometimes the other one is better, that’s life. It won’t erase the last few weeks or change the way this team has made me feel.

In life, most stories have sad endings. So much stuff in this world absolutely sucks. Gotta hold on to the good stuff along the way.

The Knights are going to win this one.
You can say that out loud Les and it will be OK.
Go the Knights

With all do respect, I did mention I said It out of fear.

It has meant so much to all of us regardless of the outcome this Sunday these past few weeks with what the guys have done.

I don't think I have fought back more tears than I have these past couple of weeks and after the Panthers match I got home and started to cry because of what they have acheived and not only that but the way they did It.

It Is the 25 years that hurts the most at this point for me and getting to the Grand Final In the back of my mind I am asking myself If It doesn't eventuate for us this Sunday then when?

They have acheived more than anyone anywhere could have possible Imagined and no one can take that away from any of us.

I think as well seeing the reactions of guys like Joey and Matty, and Ponga at full time. Including the other players...then quotes from former players throughout the day. Michael Hagan was on MMM yesterday morning etc.

Both teams start with 0 points, and 13 players. 80 minutes to get the job done. Only thing that matters is being in front at the 80th minute. All there is to it.

We were so incredibly fortunate to have a 24 point lead in our last GF and just defend that in the second half, and it's rare that it happens even when it's a close game. Even the other blow outs 07-08, 17-22 weren't that big. So it's going to be a much more nerve wracking occasion this time around.

I am confident we can win on sunday if we play to our potential, however it is definitely not a supreme confidence as the Roosters are a very good side stacked with talent that can hurt you in multiple ways if they play to their own potential.

But i am very confident regardless of the result, we will be in the big dance again within the next 2-3 years. I just believe there is too much depth, talent and belief locked down over the next few years for this squad to not have another good finals run when some stars align again. I don't think there is another NRL team in a better position than we are to say they are entering a genuine premiership window. This isn't a fluke run, it's a window pushed firmly open.

Good luck with Luai, Lomax and the corpse of Brian To’o, Chammas!

Few thing's about the compound.

1. Interactions between the family's bound to be arguments. In a small community, just WOW.
2. Lack of outside engagement is huge, even if is resort style living I am sure it will be amazing for a week, but imagine living in a big 4 holiday park 24/7, in a apartment with 3 kids, no backyard, no privacy, no going to visit your parents for months on end, take them on a weekend away, even go to the local for a trivia night to escape the usual work/sleep/eat routine.
3. Medical care, I am sure a GP will be available, but what about a bad leg break, or something that requires a chronic treatment plan.
4. Unless the partners work remotely, they become in effect stay at home Mums, definitely not for everyone.
5. Infidelity, or someone catching their wife/husband with one of the compound staff.
6. Being staffed by people from the worlds most dangerous city, unless they import all staff, well, what could possibly go wrong.
7. Home sickness, only parents will get this, if you have kids who are school age imagine dragging them away from their friends.
8. I can only imagine what this isolationism - yes they'll go home for the offseason, but months away from their own comfort zone will destroy mental health and families.

We have more potential next year than this year. We can definitely go well into the finals again next season. I was extremely optimistic this season and I never thought we would get to the Grand final, though as POS has said I believe the premiership window is well and truly open from next year. 2 premierships in 5? Let's get 5 premierships in a row, Let's paint the town red and blue.

💯

I’ve rewatched the game five times and Sandon taking that intercept still makes me cry.

Making the grand final is absolutely huge for the club.

To be frank the Knights have been thoroughly uncool for a long while, and anyone under the under the age of about 25-30 would only know them as losers.

The amount of young people I have seen around or on socials in knights gear is insane.

They definitely chose a good year to finally update and get some decent looking merchandise. Saw heaps of people on Sunday out before the game in the new gear.

I do reckon we’ll be back, I think this group has something special about them, both on paper and something intangible, and we’re right to be excited about what they might be able to do over the next few years. The thing about, “You have to lose one to win one”, that only applies if the team is actually good enough to win a comp. Eg the 2022 Eels, or the Sharks of recent years, limping into a grand final in a year where there just aren’t that many good teams running around, then getting pumped, that was the best those sides could have done, but obviously the 2020 Panthers and 2023 Broncos were teams that had “it” and faltered at their first opportunity.

But also luck can absolutely play into these things, next year I think we send a team out there which has no real weaknesses, a team I will be tipping to win the comp, and then Ponga does his ACL and it’s, oh well, we’re ****ed.

Nothing is guaranteed, aside from this: If we win this weekend, no premiership run in the history of the game has topped or will ever top it.
