Penrith had dominant wins in both the Flegg and reserve grade grand finals.

For the last 15 years or more, Penrith have this mentality where they lift for finals games, especially against the Knights.

Year after year the Knights have beaten Penrith in the rounds, and then fallen to Penrith in the finals.

Having said that - there's nothing sweeter than the times we have knocked those buggers out. They are the benchmark for pride and passion in their system, and we are the system that challenges them the most, so they lift against us the most.

There would hardly be a Penrith player who hasn't had a junior career highlight moment against the Knights in a final game.

There would hardly be a Knights junior who doesn't have a grudge to settle against those guys.

A win would be so sweet.
 
That prelim game in 2013 was over in the first 15mins when bedsy got knocked out by JWH. Let’s not kid ourselves this is a massive assignment against the bench mark of the competition for the last 7 years. The odds are stacked against and rightly so.

But there is a belief. This is a new dawn of a team the could build its own legacy. Win or lose I’m so proud of where they have come this quickly facing adversity. Let’s go boys, give it all you got. GO KNIGHTS 💙♥️
 
Getting the early train down because Im so excited I cant sit at home. The 905 train to Sydney at broadmedow was so crowded with knights jerseys that the platform was over flowing and the train is full already. The excitement in the air is palpable.... win or lose this is going to be an amazing experience. Heading to the brewery for the knights march to the ground at 3pm... I've got goosebumps thinking about it 😳

The 2013 team didn’t feel like the beginning of something, I reckon that’s a big difference. Wayne was supposed to come and turn us into the 2009-11 Dragons, grinding team full of tough vets. Couldn’t get us there consistently and there wasn’t some obvious exciting future on the horizon given how old a lot of those players were besides Gagai.

Obviously a couple of old warhorses have been important to this run, but the best player vs Souths is 21, our starting prop who’s been absolutely huge is still only 20, our best player and captain is just hitting his prime now… so many tomorrows for a lot of these players, so many of them locked down long term.

And there’s just something about a lot of these guys that makes you believe. It feels different because it is. Doesn’t hurt that, no disrespect to past players, we didn’t have many guys in that team (besides a very old Bedsy) who felt like a *special* player, a potential all time great, like Kalyn, Fletcher et al do.
