Finals Week 3 vs Panthers - 4:00pm Sunday 27th of September - Accor Stadium

There’s no answer to Penrith besides having heaps of talent and playing really good. They’re not as absurd as they used to be with maintaining intensity of first up contact & ruck control but they’re still the best at it. They’re still the best at defending the edges, with a system no one else can seem to replicate. Literally their one “weakness” is that players will play through injuries which should keep them out but they’re so good they tough it out anyway.

The game plan should be to force Cleary & Cogger to make as many tackles as possible but whether Penrith let you get your game on is always a hard “maybe” at best.

Broncs had Haas, a spammed cheat code for tough metres, offloads and ruck speed. If we had Haas I'd be very confident of beating Penrith. Tbh even if we had Saifiti it'd go a long way.

Can't help but think that our ruck speed, or lack thereof, against Warriors was a deliberate tactic from Holbrook - give them an extra 20m per set but by the time you get to the 4th or 5th tackle the defensive line wont be exhausted or staggered and thereby better prepared to defend a play for points.

We did the opposite against Souths. I wonder what approach will be taken v Penrith?
Obviously yeah having Haas would help but in 23 they tore up Penriths edges Cleary in particular, Walsh and Mam killed them. If they’re going to have Cogger, I don’t mind our chances running at him either.

Yeah not surprised they went with different tactics for Souths vs what they did with the Warriors, completely different teams

I don’t think we win but nothing to lose and we have Ponga, Best, Sharpe and they’ve got nobody with Dom’s speed. As great as they are, and as difficult as it will be, this is isn’t Penrith at their peak. This seasons the most beatable they’ve been. Unfortunately that’s still better than everyone else

Surely their “great luck” with injuries to key players has to run out sooner or later

Great luck hey? Would you say you are INJECTING a little bit of innuendo into the thread here? Maybe their players just have a lot of PEP and that's why they're so good at turning the TIDES of momentum in games?
Why, no idea what you could be referring to 😒 Seven seasons straight of no season ending injuries to the their key players in collision sport.

That must surely just be down to their great diets and great attitude or PEP, as you say. What else could possibly explain such luck 🤔

Meanwhile the Knights have had what one season 23, without a bunch of season ending injuries

We “Each game is different” according to Holbrook and Ponga.
Let’s see.

Sutton has come a long way i think, probably the best the NRL have at the moment. Gee has fallen off a cliff, used to be the only ref who you could rely to be impartial.

We're going to cop Adam Gee and the forum really will have something to complain about be it the million six agains, losing control of the contest or flat out not knowing the rules.
Such an impure science NRL , bunker and refereeing. There are multi variables in our game. Like horse racing, many things can affect the outcome.
All we can do is go out there, play our own game and see what the score is at the end of the game.
All the very best to our Knights this weekend against the Panthers.
