Finals Week 1 vs Rabbitohs - 7:50pm Friday 11th of September - Allianz Stadium

Even with our injuries, I can see us upsetting the Rabbitohs.

For a start no one is giving us a chance and also we've had 2 weeks to get ready for this. Rare advantage of having a bye in the last round leading to finals.

Also Souths have been up for the last few weeks with everything that has gone on and celebrating Jai Arrow reaching 100 games, I can see them being a bit flat for this one.

I still think we’re a chance. There’s definitely no pressure on them. I do wonder how much the last two weeks for Jai may have taken out of Souths emotionally. Of course, there’s also the chance that’s what drives them to keep going as far as possible

Surely if Manu out, expected, then ESL is in, not Cant, or maybe Jones, leave Frizell at prop, starting or bench. Need him up front for experience.
Dont play suspect injuries, fully fit starters, give it all

Thankfully we need our fowards for defence rather than attack but far out its frustrating to see so much of our starting pack sitting on the sideline, especially now that we have made the finals. Hopwood and Crouch have been fantastic but this is a finals game and its played at a different speed to the rest of the year.
Big Dom and Greg and his extra leg are going need to really make an impact coming out of our end or we are going to be playing stuck in the mud for 80 minutes.
Imagine if we didn’t risk them for inconsequential games. Could have had a real crack.

Ha what are you guys smoking. We have no go-forward.

We're at like half a dozen almost insurmountable tactical disadvantages because of our injuries. Then take a look at their team sheet, with Duncan back, they should do this comfortably. And that's fine. We're missing like 4 of our 7 best players.

If we played this fixture 10 times, maybe we win 1. We need injuries, multiple sin bins and everything in between to get close.

We have no chance

Me I’m just happy we are in it and some unreal moments can change a game, hopeful of a win but realistically hoping for a good show, hopeful they all come of the ground head held high

Need to beat Souths and the officials here. At full strength we win in a cantor. We can still do it though. Would be great to rain on their parade.

We haven’t had competitive go-forward from our pack all year, that’s not a new problem even without Saifiti and Mooney. Hell of an opportunity for Hopwood, Crouch, Saulo to put themselves on the map. The spine and backline that’s been creating opportunities at will from anywhere on the field, and even while getting rolled through the middle, is still all there.

I don’t go into this game with a defeatist attitude at all. Nothing about the team’s mentality all season leads me to believe they will either.

Fair. I'll never forgive AOB for 2025. He gave up.
To my mind that's one of the few redeeming choices he made in his time here. Imagine he hadn't given up, and that as a result we never won the spoon, the board was half inclined to keep him, the sorry pack of losers.

I genuinely thank AOB for throwing in the towel and releasing us from the seemingly unconditional support he had from the club

I fear this could go the way of the last elimination final we had against the Bunnies back in 2020.

Coincidentally, it was a 6th Vs 7th that day as well!

Shoot out to a 14-0 lead before Souths storm back and win convincingly.

I think our best bet will be a shootout and hoping that the emotion has finally caught up to them. Ponga catching fire wouldn’t hurt either .
