NRL Round 18 - Knights Vs Dolphins - 4:05pm Sunday, 5th of July - McDonald Jones Stadium

Great win against a high class opponent. Was a really enjoyable game of football. To lose Mooney before kick off and J SAF 10 minutes in and aim up the way we did was fantastic.

McEwen was enormous, he’s getting better every week. Crossland, Hopwood, Lucas, Marz and Brown very strong. Very solid debut from Crouch too. Big shout to Flunt as well. Had one bad defensive miss but came up with some big plays and got the better of a criminally underrated centre in Averillo.

Lastly how ****ing good is Croker? He’s gone from fringe First Grader to absolute vital cog in our forward pack in 6 months. Deserves a lock of the year nomination at the Dally M’s for sure.

Really proud of the effort today.

Some people on here need to realise a game of footy is about attack and DEFENCE.. Brown literally has WON us the last 3 games with his defence. Without him we lose all 3 games
Definitely worth his 1.3 million anyone arguing this really just needs to admit they don’t understand Rugby League

Anyway Gagai can go to brissy now, he is absolutely useless and Hunt is ready to take his spot great game from him

Hopwood, Crouch and McEwen absolutely phenomenal today, Crouch has to keep his spot for the rest of the season now

If Friz wants more then 200K a season then goodbye after today

Top 4 Baby

Saf and Mooney going to be big outs but hopefully Mooney only out for 1 more game and our young forwards can stand up again

What were you watching Friz came on and played in the middle ran for 140m and made 30 tackles! Had to be the pack alpha he played well.

Actually thought we did pretty well today. I thought we improved on last week and we played to the conditions much better.

Dolphins are a top team, I think they stick to a similar gameplan.

Thought Hopgood was really solid. Croker, crouch, McEwen, Lucas, Cant and Frizz all put in a good performance too.

A few of our errors today were from trying to create something. Those errors are the ones I don’t mind. Crossland with the poor pass to Croker - he saw something and sprinted in there and tried to pass the ball as soon as he could, and obviously didn’t work out. Same with Hunt trying to pass the ball from an impossible angle - if it comes off, it’s a try. Frizz sometimes should just take the tackle instead of trying to force the ball out, but it comes with intent to attack.

Thought Dom, Hunt and Marzhew were good out of the back today. Good yardage. Hunt had some good runs and solid takes in the air. Gagai improved on his last performance as well.
Hunts run and line for the try was great, good footwork to get over. Was very Lucas- like the way he burst onto the ball. Great stuff.

Browns kicking game today was good. There was only really one kick that went straight to the player, but the rest I thought were good. He looks like he’s at home when he goes back to the left side. But he’s a classy player.

It wasn’t quite a 80 minute performance, but I think we are building towards something. I’d be concerned if we were playing our best footy now.

We still have 3 months of footy to go. I want to be peaking in 6-8 weeks time.

Very happy with the win , with BOTH sides missing good players. Happy with the defence and resilience, reducing errors and soft penalties.
I enjoyed the game, it was hard fought in poor weather conditions but still exciting enough. I said in previous weeks if this was last year and AOB ball, we lose by 12+.
I don’t know about some people on here, but I will happily take these “ ugly “ home wins, than a depressing loss with lack of effort like we have had in previous seasons.
I would love to see us put some points on the Rabbits next week , our attack seems to go in and out of form during games . It will be interesting to see how it goes with Ponga and Best back, Sharpe in 6 and Smith 14.
Personally I’d give Gags a week off, he,s not in great form, and Hunt is- straight swap.
We are going to miss JSaf for 5-6 weeks, so a young forward gets an opportunity to step up. Hopwood and Crouch can share the load I’m sure. Great learning curve on how to be a forward leader.

Fascinating how different I perceive the game putting the phone away while watching it. I thought Brown was really good. Best spine player on the field, comfortably. Have none of you watched a tough game between two good teams lately?
Looking back through the thread now and actually glad I missed the usual misery-fest. Just feeling absolutely stoked we won against a team that’s going to be top four and challenging for the title!!!

How am I on his back?

I never said he gives 1/10. He’s always full of heart and effort.

I said he can have poor moments in his game. He also has brilliant moments in his game. I don’t see how that’s being “on his back”, but if acknowledging both the good and bad in somebodies game is “on their back” I guess I’m guilty.

He showed good character today to bounce back from his game last week. Think he had one of his better games.

All players have good and poor moments in a game.
I agree with what you say
