Men’s State of Origin Game 2 2026 - The Blues Vs The Maroons - 8:05pm Wednesday 17th June - MCG

Yeah I think lots of people are riding Young due to his great past seasons, this year I think a few are better especially Haumole since his PCM eclipse Young and Young having more missed tackles this year at club land than Haumole I’m pretty sure.

Imo Young is heavily overrated.

I mean Young had a good origin 1

Olakautu was gassed way too quickly which is probably the reason why he got dropped. I think he went too hard in the first 30 minutes which cost him in the backend
Probably right, but surely that's a coaching issue.

Dropping a right-sided player for a left-sided player only has upside for Loz, if the game goes pear-shaped, he can drop Lucas...brilliant.

Personally, I think Loz is well out of his depth. NSW deserve to be the favourites on paper, but I'm taking the plus odds on QLD.

A bit of a laugh listening to this, they try to claim that Reece Walsh has been in twice the form of Ponga this year and that Kalyns “poor” games in last 2 games meant that Walsh should have been in origin over him and that Walsh has been the premier fullback and footballer of the last year or so
Even though he has been injured almost all year and almost cost Broncos the game on weekend and they have lost to the bottom 2 teams

Everybody always says Ponga gets glazed, but apart from Walsh and his 6 weeks at end of year last year he is the most overhyped player in the game almost

Yeah i thought young was one of the better players in game 1. The canberra boys went well. The warriors boys, not so much.
And yet Haumole still beat him in average metres and PCM in the same game

Origin teams are meant to be picked on form, you get that from clubs and you can ask anyone but Canberra fans and they will say Haumole is miles ahead.

Young is media hype based on past form, nothing more.

Walsh literally cost the Broncos the game on the weekend when he failed to contest against Kini. You're right, it's pretty funny, IDK what games they've been watching, but they can't be from this season, Walsh's form has been mostly dire.

PS. I'd still love to know the thinking behind rehiring Loz after his previous sacking. He had added nothing whatsoever to his coaching resume in the interim. Bizarre.

I feel bad for Lucas because the way league fans are, if the blues lose, Lucas is going to get hounded because he replaced Haumole.

Again I’ve stated I would have picked Haumole and Lucas, just hope Lucas can perform and deliver a top tier performance otherwise other fans and media will hound him like it’s his fault, if they lose.

For all of Lucas' attacking highlights (and long may they continue!!) he has been chosen because of his defence. That dumbass article the other day asking "who would Munster rather tackle?" could be easily answered with "who would Munster rather attack?".

Hamuole is the biggest bloke in the team. Yeah, he was cramping, but that can happen to any player at any time. And the pass he dropped was at his ankles....I just don't understand Loz, and his explanation of the situation would make Darryll Kerrigan proud...*it's the vibe of the thing*.

Both Lucas and Haumole should be a big part of NSW's future, but Loz has somehow managed to slap Haumole in the face when he was far from the worst player for NSW or even in the forward pack and as pointed out, set Lucas up to take the brunt of the blame should game 2 go the same was as game 1 was seemingly going until Ponga's brain fade.

Loz, a truly great player, a lovely bloke, and a terrible coach.
