NRL Round 14 - Knights Vs Storm - 6:00pm Friday, 5th of June - AAMI Park

What gives this game an extra level of toughness is it’s a slightly later game to what we have been playing. Could be colder down there. So not a dry track which I think suits us. Hopefully it’s nice weather down there.
Its absurd that it took over half the season for us to play a night game. If we come out and try and move it around like we have been we may see as many errors as we did yesturday.

I’m sick of listening to his voice, how many times has he commentated us this year?
We must get the D grade team when it’s not one of the better timeslots

But shouldn’t complain about the timeslots, we get a lot of day games as well which is what they want

Didn’t see the Storm game. Were they really good, the Chooks really bad or a bit of both?

From what I see of the game it was a bit of both really, Storm still dont look like themselves and they spent a long time in the Roosters 20 before they scored and the Roosters were pretty shocking with the ball.

I really hope the boys get up for this one. If we play like last week we lose. I have a feeling Sandon won’t be available so Sharpe back to six and Hunt in the centres. Be great if Braddy was available.

We need to cut the errors somewhat. Time and place to know when to play expansive football.

Roosters were giving a lot of ball up to the storm, deadset like 20 errors and probably gave away 10 or so penalties.

Storm had a huge amount of possession inside the roosters 20 meters and only managed to score once as their other two tries came from 80 meter plays, looked pretty clunky imo and probably should of scored a fair bit more.

Roosters played horrid but did a good job keeping the score relatively close. Probably the best the storm has defended since the start of the year. Faalogo had a blinder and our work from marker needs to be spot on or Harry could make it a long day for us. Their left winger was good as well.

Ponga is the key.
Holbrook said in some interview that Ponga is struggling to recover every week because he has missed so much football and training and we let him backup 3 days after a torrid origin game, and frankly, he looked like he was struggling.
This week he should be having a few light sessions till captains run on Friday and basically getting as fresh as he can for Saturday.
If Ponga is fresh and turns on the sort of game he was playing in origin, we are in with a big chance.

The game is 6pm Friday mate not long at all to recover

I get the impression Ponga is somewhat “making up for lost time” in some respects.

He’s missed a lot of football over the years, and I feel like he was probably well positioned to leave us this contract if he wanted to pursue something elsewhere. I get the impression he’s locked in and determined to make something special happen here and push himself to new levels.

Just need to keep an eye on him and enforce a break if we think it’s necessary. Last thing we need is an overuse/fatigue injury.

I just have the feeling our record at AAMI isn’t gonna be in our favour and it’s going to end up a typical 36-14 game.

I hope I’m wrong.
