NRL Round 14 - Knights Vs Storm - 6:00pm Friday, 5th of June - AAMI Park

Manu was very very good in Cup, just putting it out but could we play super fast Lucas at centre with Manu at 2nd row against Storm, so it’s a backline of Ponga, Young, Gagai, Lucas, Marzhew with Sharpe and Brown the halves

Best game I ever saw Lucas play he scored 4 tries as a winger in reserve grade.
The speed he showed in that game was electric, but that was about 10kg ago.
He'd still go great as a winger - faster than Marzhew and nearly as strong.

I think I remember you updating the forum during this game Billy. It always stuck in my memory how you said Lucas could play a number of positions and be effective and he had great speed. Probably 4-5 years ago now.

I hope we’ve got our “bad game” out the way today coming off the bye. We definitely lacked composure and for some reason seemed in a rush in most sets. Maybe the odds and talk of belting parra added extra pressure to pile on the scoreboard. Plus, credit to the Eels, they went hard and had a decent structure in the team despite the million injuries.

Sounds like Best is out and even if he was not, leave him another two weeks noting the bye. We need him fit and firing for the rest of the year. Cut and paste team unless Sandon is out and then it’s Sharpe at 6 and Hunt in centres. I like Hunt and thought his tackle into touch today showed how much his body and brain is getting stronger. The errors will reduce, but his talent will not, which is why he should be first picked in the backs.

I thought he could play anywhere in the backline, but moving him to second row seemed crazy to me.
Spending a covid year playing under Andrew Ryan at South Newcastle had a lot to do with his move to second row I think, and turns out he took to the extra defence like a duck to water. 40+ tackles most weeks and still attacks like a speedy centre makes him one of our best players for sure.
