NRL Round 13 - Knights Vs Eels - 3:00pm Saturday, 30th of May - McDonald Jones Stadium

Um...yes....but they did lead, and they did win! The Eels, on the other hand, not so much. I fail to see how that is a good argument.
Because the only difference is today the player was held up agaisnt the odds where as the other night they werent.
Also, the Knights never led the 1997 grand final until the final 6 seconds, as another example, despite all the odds agaisnt them.

What load of nonsense. Held up against the odds...LMAO....so the Eels get all the credit for at best getting within a try of taking it to golden point...lol How sad.

Most of their points came from our errors and poor discipline. The Eels never led. Didn't win, didn't nearly win, didn't deserve to win.

Go Knights.

The point is, leading for 78 minutes of the game doesn't mean you can't 'nearly' lose, stuff like that happens all the time in every sport whether you're the better team or not.

That's not the argument even if that's true. The argument is the suggestion that the Eels nearly won this game, which they didn't. Enough said.

Considering the knights have one of the most embarrassing golden point records in the league and through a moronic intercept at the worst moment, then needed some crazy tackles late in the game, yeh, they definitely did.

Gee that was a lot harder then it should have been
I’m going to give a couple of MY opinions here which I’m sure maybe a lot will disagree with

1 Ponga just played his worst game of footy in his career so far, made some terrible errors with the ball and both of the eels tries from grubbers he was way out of position. Maybe that HIA from Wednesday night did have a impact

2 Anyone who complains about Dylan Brown needs to go back and watch that whole game on his defence. He is the best defending half in the NRL by a country mile, we concede another 3-4 tries if it wasn’t for his 1 on 1 tackles today. Guys not everything is about attack

3 Sandon had an outstanding game before he got injured, both of our first 2 tries was from his direct pass, yes his defence needs work but his attack makes up for this

Otherwise Lucas and Saf was outstanding, Mooney tried his heard out like he always does

Young was absolutely pathetic today

Feel bad for Smith, as i think Graham should be the backup hooker. He's just a better hooker plain and simple (as he should be), and provides huge impact coming off the bench in that role. Appreciated what Smith gave us when the stars were out, he genuinely helped to keep our season afloat. I'm sure he will still be heavily needed throughout the season.
I reckon in big games we’ll actually just want to play Phoenix at 9 all game unless something is really going wrong. So to me it’s a moot point. I’m sure Graham and Smith will both see plenty of game time and have a big role in the season either way.

Bloody stoked my player tag has become Paul rauhihi that’s a bloke I’d be scared to tackle, if Dsaf can develop his controlled aggression which he has been doing so well recently we could end up with a pillar of a player like PR

Okay time to make a comment about the reff.. here we go..
I was actually okay with how he decided to officiate the game for the most part. You could tell from early on that he had decided to put the whistle away and let the players work it out and thats what happened, did he miss some calls, yes he missed a boat load but that did go both ways (calls went their way more often)
I dont mind when the reff decides to let the game flow but they need to remain consistent with it for the entire game.

We agree on all the above Seano I guess the point is that we're better than what we've showed the last couple games.

I reckon they're a little apathetic and its because we havent lost in 6 weeks. And crucially we're also yet to lose a game with Ponga and Brown.

Our best has dropped off significantly imo.. And I reckon once we play a top team this current form will get exposed for what it is - sub par.

If we take an L the boys will likely sharpen up again. Perfectly natural.

Definitely a bit of complacency against some weaker teams. Definitely need to improve, hopefully we can rise to the occasion against some better teams. We will find out alot about this team later in the season, where we have a tougher stretch of games. Even next week will be a big test, away against Storm.

They're a young team, they've learned very few lessons as a group and under these circumstances where we know we're expected to win each week. So maybe there's a psychological process to winning a comp as much as it is about having the personnel.

Gut feeling is that we will lose to Melbourne next week. We will learn from it. And hopefully come out firing after the bye.

100%. No argument here.

Really felt like a game where they need to learn from, particularly about controling the ball instead of going for so many low percentage offloads and passes while in the lead. We don't have to try to score off every play. On the plus side, we'd typically lose these types of games in past seasons, so that's progress.
