Knights Injury and Suspension Updates

the game is way too quick
Insane the idiots (PVL) can’t see the obvious correlation between extreme fatigue and an increase in injuries.

Not only that injuries, but also that errors and poor technique lead to more lazy high shots, head knocks, concussions and suspensions.

How is having blow out score lines, and dozens of players out of action for weeks and months making the game a better spectacle?

Last season was the first time I thought they got near the balance they were looking for rather than games being decided mostly by who can defend better and the response is apparently “that’s enough of that”. I don’t get it.
That’s the most baffling thing.
It was pretty universally agreed, that last year was a very good season.

They already knew from 21 the consequences of too many 6 Agains, so what is the argument for the changes?

Assuming it’s purely based on PVL’s ego. There’s no way there can be any data or facts to support the changes

PVL is so obsessed with AFL and the fact their play is continuous and non stop that he has tried to manufacture it in NRL with these pathetic set restarts.
Probably right but it’s ridiculous for him to compare the two because AFL is a sport that is best suited to being watched live, therefore it needs the constant motion. Meanwhile the NRL is the perfect sport for TV because all the action takes place in one 10 metre area on camera.

So I assume the end goal would ultimately be to break the game down into quarters then presumably to cope with the fatigue, and therefore allowing for more ad breaks / revenue

Try and see it from another angle, when the game sped up the more views the game got and the more money came in, so why wouldn't he try and speed up the game? Its great for business and the people who are streaming the game are willing to pay more money to continue stream it.
Do I think the game is a little to fast, yes of course and I think last year was the best the rules had ever been and it was played at a great pace.
PVL is not killing the game he is growing it, he and his team have made this game so much bigger than it has been in a very long time and there are definitely going to be times where he goes to far like now and thats okay as long as they take on the data and learn from it. For someone in his position the game is bigger than the players.
Also what's to say the PVL is the one deciding to make the game faster, maybe its those who are putting money into it (i doubt it but tin Foil hat stuff you know)

Are you happy with the six agains? Do you know why they’re being blowing, because as a viewer it’s usually clear as mud to me. And can you tell me why some games we get them blown every other set, while in others we barely get any all game?

For me they are extremely frustrating as a viewer, and put me off watching … I’ve really only tuned into Knights games this year.

Of course nobody wants to go back to the wrestle years, but why did we need to change things after a great 2025?

Growing the game or not, as a rugby league fan my entire life the game is changing and getting worse to watch. Most of the matches aren't decided by who is the better team, it's decided by who gets more set restarts which nobody knows what they are for.

I like the 6 again rule but this year they have been going crazy with them, 2025 was the best the footy has been in my opinion. It could also be the reffs are being told to go hard with set restarts to start the season to warn clubs that they will be penalised for what ever reason, the games over the weekend they put the whistle away and let the game flow and it was better to watch and we might see more of it who knows.

The best teams are the teams that adapt the best to the game they are playing and score more points so the best teams are currently winning. Im sorry your not enjoying the game right now but mate its really not that bad, if it was that bad it wouldnt be rating as high as it is right now. I dont disagree that its a tad to fast and it needs to slow down just a little for player and reff welfare and of course the 6 again rule needs to be tweeked but not removed.

The set restarts are here to stay it looks like so we need to come up with another way to let teams control the tempo, not the ref. I would like to see the reintroduction of scrums for balls out of play. This allows the team on the back foot to perhaps kick early find touch 10 out, take their 30 seconds to get there and put in a big defensive set from a set position and wrsetle back the momentum.
The ability of a half to identify this and excecute this is a a lost artform of the game.
There is to much fatigue and im sick of seeing one team go 70-80 metres every set and the team on the wrong end of the possesion and restarts having no way to wrestle back the momentum more times than not.

Nobody really questions it as most of the main stream NRL people want to suckle off him and get their boozy trips to Vegas and horse racing events so they stay quiet
It’s the coaches and players and the so called players union who really have to do somewthing

Also PVL is doing this as its tv rights again shortly so he Is playing with the game to get what he thinks will be the ultimate sell for highest $$$$$, there just won’t be players to put on the field for the tv games

Teams are on the wrong end of set restarts for a reason. But that's a very fair point, they need to introduce avenues to slow the game down or change momentum that aren't just cheating in the ruck.
Yeah to do so now you need to kick a 40/20, which is why you see more attempts at it than you used to IMO.
