NRL Round 3 - Knights Vs Warriors - 3:00pm Saturday, 21st March - McDonald Jones Stadium

Holbrook is certainly more of a innovator allowing the lads to play proper attacking footy compared to AOB who was a my way or the high way micro manager who only knew one way which didn't work.

Tough one, can't see us winning unfortunately but the Wahs have struggled in Newcastle more often than not even last year only just beating us at the death.

Since Webster has been the Warriors coach we've only beaten them in Newy.

Yep 1 Hunt 6 Sharpe 7 Smith 9 Crossland

Friz named at 13 again.

Cant to jersey 14, Gamble and Graham are 18 and 19.

I still reckon we have the better backline.

Our forwards are going to have a job on their hands though

they have the far superior forward pack though. They bashed the chooks and Canberra packs into submission over the last 2 weeks. If they do the same to us, the former doesn't matter. Even tougher now given that Barnett seems to be back.

Looks like Mitch has been cleared to play according to the warriors website. The main threat in the warriors backline other than RTS is Tuapiki. He pretty much changed the game for the wahs last week against the raiders when he came on and broke them open.

Yeah I can see how you’d think that but they actually didn’t with the Roosters specifically

The Roosters had a better average set distance, less missed tackles, more tackle efficiency, equal ineffective tackles, faster play the balls

The Warriors don’t actually dominate anything the Roosters couldn’t hold the ball and gave away so many penalties.

13 errors to 8
11 penalties conceded to 4

And this was with a washed Collins and no Spencer, leaving only Whyte as an actual good prop, they also didn’t use another prop and instead had Watson, foketi, Butcher and Wong.

Chooks got flogged in NZ by 20+. To say they didn't get dominated in the middle and it was all because of ill-discipline is to get the causal direction wrong. They were ill-disciplined against the wahs, as were the Raiders, because they lost the ruck, forcing them to give away set restarts and penalties to slow it down. The faster ptb speed for the chooks actually proves this pt.

The Roosters were definitely more efficient when they had the ball. But that’s kind of the issue… they didn’t have enough of it. That’s where the Wahs dominate — possession. Their intense physicality forced the Roosters into mistakes, won the territory battle (56-44), and kept turning them around. Chooks have a much better backline than us but that didn't matter since they barely ever entered their red zone.

Also on the pack point — even if Collins wasn’t at his best and Spencer was out, the wahs pack is still missing Barnett, Niukore and Capewell so it's not like they were at full strength either. But they still outran the chooks pack in that game by about 300 m if you look at the stats. They outran the Raiders pack by a similar margin on Friday. I could never see us doing that to those two packs even at Mac Jones.

Having a better backline doesn't matter if we never enter their red zone which is the cornerstone of their gameplan. Winning the field position battle is going to be the main challenge on Saturday. Hope our middles are up for it.

The only reason to pick JSaf over Gags at captain is in the hopes he takes the C next to his name and decides he is going to become this inspirational forwards leader.

For mine Gags deserves the C, much more accomplished resume than JSaf, and is on the field all the time. If anyone deserves the C it's Gags.

I'm disappointed in JSaf choice as captain tbh.
