Gags and Best are literally the least of our problems.

They also make a lot of handling errors however

Our whole team was the problem. I didn’t say they were the problem, a good club it’s highest paid players play to their potential ours didn’t. Young players like I said Lucas and Sharpe made our senior player look poor. Elite or quality centres make their own breaks and tries ours didn’t this year. In fairness there’s so many fingers to be pointed at the whole team. I just started with I don’t see Gags being the centre we need anymore he needs to play wing.

If you look at our salaries this year and the figures we were reportedly haggling over with Gagai, then he’s definitely not one of our highest players. Barely even mid-table.

Dane’s still playing really well but right centre is next on the list of positional importance beyond spine & middles IMO.

Moving him to the wing gives us an opportunity to groom a successor there with a “coach on the field” giving instant feedback on what that player is doing right and wrong.

That to me is a better argument for it than anything to do with his own performance levels.

And Gags not get younger next year.

Gags a great player. But Gags retire end of next year.

There are no guarantees in this life but I’m quietly confident he’ll do a good job and we’ll be very happy with him.

That three club swap (Ponga > Sydney club, half from Sydney club > Titans, Tino > Knights) is gonna hit like crack.

It’s a crap shoot. No one thought Andrew Webster would be any good at the Wahs. If it’s gonna happen for Holbrook, this is the right job for him.

I’m relieved that AOB is gone and this decision at least means we should see a decent attacking team if nothing else.

I’m keen to see what Holbrook can do with Ponga, Sharpe, Brown, Best, Lucas etc.
