The last 5 weeks is what’s cost us the spoon

Being out scored like 220-50

If we had of kept the defensive resolve that we had for the first 2/3 of the season we would have needed to be beaten by about 80 or 90 tomorrow

A really bad 5 week period coupled with a few games we should have wrapped up like titans & warriors games at home have summed the year up
Start of the season cost us...the games we should of been winning and not scoring points. Our draw was pretty easy.

I don’t agree with “the side we’re were given this year” idea.
The Knights have had injuries, but not as bad as other teams who have finished way ahead of the Knights.
The problem all year has been the bone headed tactics employed by our coaches.
The idea that Green should even be considered as head coach is laughable and if selected will see us doing a repeat of the wooden spoon years of the previous decade.
Newcastle has been a basket case in 2025.
The only way for 2026, 2027 & possibly 2028 is up.
More the side we were given this year with limited ability once we had an injury or two due to the mismanaged salary cap

Whilst other teams have had injuries We knew we were 1 injury in the forwards from being at bare bones and then our 3 main attacking threats in Ponga(who’s was average all year),Lucas and Sharpe all finished in a week or so of each other left us struggling even more

Whilst next year is a little better depth wise in forwards we still going to be struggling attack wise

Lots experts expected titans to be top 4 to 8th with their roster this year whilst knights were always predicted bottom 4 so it’s been dire but almost expected

Parramatta have beaten us in 7 of the last 8 games we have played against them (although we did beat them when we played them last year) and they will have the home ground advantage tomorrow.

Sportsbet have the Eels at $1.24 and us at $4.10.

Past effort mean nothing, effort on the day, bounce of the ball, effort and the odd bit of luck and brilliance and a little bit of Ref and video ref assistance and who knows, go the Knights

AOB ball, reap what you sow.

Can't wait for this buffoon to get the hell out of Newcastle.

For his entire tenure he has stuck to the same ethos, grinding, boring, percentages, safe ******** playing style.

We have reached peak AOB ball now being found out by every team in the NRL.

Should not have been extended, should have been fired end of last season, should have been fired 10 rounds in to this one.

Wests saved some money and bought us the spoon.

Well done!

Yep, we all acknowledge there’s been injuries. But the boring style of AOB ball early season, set us up for disaster when injuries hit.
The few positives are seeing the end of AOB, and worst player in the comp Jack Cogger. Along with overpaid spuds like Brailey, Hetherington, and Elliot. With some good development of Mckewan, ESL, and hunt.

Bring on 2026, where we burn it all down over the offseason again and start again as delusional hopeful knights fans!
