NRL Round 24 - Cowboys Vs Knights - 4:05pm Sunday 17th August - Country Bank Stadium, Townsville

With the Green thing it just bothers me that we’d promote a not very successful assistant instead of consider someone with a good track record as an actual coach. I mean he could be awesome, but do we have to be the litmus test for the experiment? Doesn’t Newcastle deserve better than, ‘let’s wing it and hope for the best?’

Christ almighty.

I say give the giant angry Englishman a go. We did alright with the last pommy coach we had if memory serves correctly? 🤔
I just don’t understand how green gets mentioned isn’t he our attacking coach atm mc Dermott is definitely a better choice but can he attract players our squad atm is paper thin especially forwards

If we get rid of AOB at appoint Green the “attacking” coach? Injuries or not this is unforgivable. It will be a miracle turn around against the wind. Hard to watch in all honesty.
It has been like watching a slow motion train wreck seeing the Knights score no points in so many halves of football.
The players look constrained and confused. They don’t look like they are enjoying their football.
It looks like the NRL side is toxic and the way we are playing, deserve the dreaded kitchen utensils, the wooden spoon.
The coach might be a nice guy, but it is past time for him to go. We are just not NRL standard atm under his stewardship.
The team needs a break from football, get everything out of their system, then return in the pre season with a new voice, preferably from outside the club so there is no lingering odour of the current coaching “system”.
This alone will be good for their mental health, given they will return prepared to do and think differently about their football.

100%.

What has Green done exactly to deserve that sort of promotion, especially without a proper recruitment process?

He has literally zero credentials to be deserving of the job. All the chatter out of the club is that he’s liked by the players. Well no ****, players always like the assistants. Doesn’t mean he can coach if the part of the game he’s responsible for is record-breaking bad.
The lack of a transparent, fair recruitment process is hugely concerning to me, if that’s what happens. Maybe Green is the best candidate and blows all the others out of the water. But there is never any harm in throwing a job open to applicants and seeing what is out there. Someone might just come along and surprise you.

If Newcastle just hand ball the most important job in the club to Green based on what appears to be the players like him without a recruitment process where all candidates are considered, that is all time stupidity from the Knights. It will be no wonder the place can't drag itself up out of irrelevance with such poor management of the club.

But, I have hope this is all just media talk and the Knights do have some clue how ridiculous that move would be. We haven't finally started to bring the club forward with private ownership and hiring good football people in to key positions, to do something so boneheaded I would hope.

*Noting this is the Knights and nothing is beyond them.

I wouldnt have Green for the fact he is an Isaac Moses client.
Thats possibly why his name is being thrown about. I can not see any other reason he would be in the running for a head coachs position.

Maybe the team has had enough of AOB and are playing the way they are to get rid of him , its happened before ... Although i still think no front rowers on the bench is one of our biggest problems , back rowers playing prop just doesn't cut the mustard.

He has had props on the bench throughout his long 6 year stay and was still useless.

He has two out and out props in cup with Hethro and Crouch both are playing really well and he refuses to pick them.

He could dive down to flegg and grab the behemoth that is Charmichael if he really felt like it.

Frizell is a second rower that is better than one half of our starting props (leo) when he is playing prop and you can see what he brings with his leg speed he makes the props move and slams into them and tires them out.

If anything I’d personally go

8. JSAF
10. Frizell
13. Crossland / Croker (when Crossland is injured)

Bench forwards
Leo
Crouch
Croker / Teague (who ever gets this spot for the 13 rotation)

Teauge getting overlooked is insane considering his insane stamina, extremely high work rate and toughness.

Croker has shown he is a really good 13

Considering that Moses got those protective clauses put in for AOB in exchange for a handshake agreement that he'd ensure Blaze Talagi would sign for us, and then Talagi went to Penrith instead, it's a new height of cuckery if they still bow to Isaac's every whim. Maybe Pezet rejected us because he sees we're too cucked even for him.

Where was that reported? What a joke if true.

Would love to see us do a Warriors and refuse to deal with or sign any of his clients.

Did the same with Staggs, Luki and Brooks. He was dumping the unwanted here and driving the prices up of the others.
Think we have got rid of a lot thou so we are improving on that front.

Haha how many times have they been screwed by Moses? He was supposed to get them Staggs and Luki too. Although they’ve turned out for the best because they were going to play Staggs as a 6 🤦‍♀️

I only recently discovered that in addition to AOB and Green, Adam Blair is also a Moses client.

Thankfully I think Lucas is the only player of his left on the roster

Just something I've heard & it was Talagi + a few other guns he said he'd send to us.

The good or bad news depending on your perspective on how POS is doing, is that Peter is just going to chase the guys he thinks are good rather than listen to an agent's sales pitch.

Is everyone going to pretend that OB isnt complicit in that rip of the club? At least in part. He would've been aware of the terms.

Not that he can control Moses. But he is now holding leverage over the club and earning on that basis

If you believe a quarter of what you've read re Moses it's hardly suprising.
Oh no doubt, if there’s a way to eff over a club to benefit him and his clients, he’ll find it.
Talagi is a poor man’s Fletcher Sharpe. He wouldn’t have improved us anyway.
The issue is more he was used as a carrot for the longer extension and ridiculous clause with AOB.
