Recruitment And Retention Discussion

What about big Papi for a year? Him rotating with JSaf has the big body position covered and allows the young guys another year to develop.

Sully would be keeping his powder dry over Haas.
Jazz Tevaga signing for Wakefield for 2026 probably doesn't help the Knights in competition with the Sea Eagles for TDS.
I think they have little chance of signing him. That club is an equal mess to the one he is leaving. DCE leaving is enormous. Their halves next year are very middle of the road. Turbo is on one leg and no guarantee of staying.

Reading this of the suitors to TDS, Manly and the Eels will have a lot of competition for the 9. The other is the Cows...which is a long way for a Sydney kid. So Newcastle still has a chance, but I'd be surprised if we get him on Monday before the deadline.

It will be interesting to see who, if anyone, the Dogs shift on. Sexton, Mahoney and Zyon Maiu’u, who Gus poached from the Warriors but hasn't settled apparently. Is a middle though and the Warriors were high on him before Gus got to him...not sure if we're interested, he'll likely end up back in NZ would be my guess.

Better than Cogger. Only 22 and 188cm...might not stay a half.

Doubt we get Lodge, he's got a young family and the deal he did with Manly allows him to play footy, work construction and pursue boxing.

He was top 30 at Manly but Knights used their last top 30 spot on Dom, so something has to give if he's joining the top 30 here (same story with Da Silva, we'd have to move 2 players on to fit both in). Possible Manly could just buy out the rest of his contract (only a few months left on it) and he joins as a supplemental player.

Not an inspiring signing in any case. Was overly scapegoated at the Eels because his dad was coach but hasn't looked like any more of an NRL player at Manly.

He is stuck behind DCE and Brooks in the halves at Manly though.

Knights 2026 depth wise, it looks like FG halves: Brown/Sharpe and RG halves: Arthur/Cogger.

Better than Cogger, I think people get to caught up in wanting the best signings and that’s understandable but that’s not what the market is for.

It’s for getting upgrades no matter how minimal, Arthur is better than both Cogger and Hastings so that means we should be going for him simple and that’s the same mindset POS has, he isn’t going to waste time waiting for signings that may never come, he is looking for upgrades Arthur fits under that he is a good depth player
