NRLW semi-final - Knights v Roosters - 4:15pm Sunday 29th September - Allianz Stadium

At least we got a consolation try in the second half.

I wonder what a girls mad Monday would be like?

Gutted have loved having a gf team on grand final day last 2 years. Good on the girls for this season hopefully we can go one game better next year!

Nothing will be more satisfying than to see Fressard, Millie, Strange and Kelly lose a GF. The Sharks better not choke.

Roosters just far too strong today, credit where it’s due. Like the Broncos game a few weeks ago - we had no answer when they got a roll on and no one through the middle to get us back on the front foot.

Can only speculate how the season would’ve gone with Griffiths. Think it’s more of a case of the quality of the comp improving significantly across the board than the Knights getting markedly worse for what it’s worth. Losing the main strike forward for the season didn’t help either, nor Butler missing today on top of that.

There are definite weaknesses to address in the roster (mostly in the forwards), will be interesting to see what changes are made going into next year. Have a core that will be competitive every year but need more athleticism around them. Some good finds in Willison and McEwen who should both be even better after a real pre-season. Finau on a development deal but that was signed before she tore up reserve grade so could get fast-tracked. If Kukutai’s performance in the reserve grade grand final is a true indication on her improvement and not just a one-off blinder then hopefully she’s back as well.

The most frustrating thing is was that The roosters were better than us today for sure, but there first half wasn’t that much better than there second it was more that our defence and effort in first half was non existent.

Not till he made the changes needed like Evah on, Rima and Tinano on that we looked better, but was too late even though we scored 10 points to 1 in that time.

In the end a loss is better than flu-king another grand final as hopefully coaches see that those young guns are needed in the team and we stick with them

The girls across the grades had a great season.

We missed the GF in under 17s, but were clearly the 2nd best side in the comp and the only team to push the insanely loaded Bulldogs side. The Bulldogs were trying to find 17 year olds capable of joining their NRLW squad next year or the year after and flew in 10 players weekly from NZ and Qld - they won by over 50 per game on average and nearly got to 100 twice in 60 minute games. our loss of 22 - 4 to them in the semi was the only game they had a respectable scoreline against them all season.

In under 19s we made the GF and put in a respectable performance. We also uncovered 4 or 5 good prospects - Evah McEwen the best of them.

In reserve grade we made the GF and were competitive every game in the backend of the season.

3rd in firstgrade

Yeah all is not lost but changes need to be made and some tough conversations need to happen with certain players we’ve invested a lot of faith in.
