Pre-season 2025

He hasn't refused to leave, he's refused to take a pay cut. Rightfully so I'm sure none of us would do that either. As much as i want him gone also it has to be mutually beneficial.
Don't disagree with that. Seeing how many players over the last few years getting paid on massive overs is why I wasn't sad to see Zammit get moved on.

Yeah people seem to be forgetting he’s signed a contract and has every right to see it out.
Mostly happy for him to see it out if he keeps this form. When is contract till? 27?

Losing Leo would not be for club in slightest. Hoping Hetherington can move on, but if likes of Croker and Jones are being moved to free coin for him, possibly Enari too.

Contract will hopefully be signed for extensions with junior players in mind.

Contracted til 2026.

I don't get the paycut comments, who is suggesting he should take one exactly? The Knights would be making up in difference to be rid of him.

Unless he's talking about post-2026, in which case he is delusional if he thinks someone is paying him 850k a year again.
his comments in the media have been he wont take a pay cut to go elsewhere, Knights and the other clubs havent been able to come to an agreement that will pay him what his contract is worth. Hence the paycut talk.

He said it, the comments were very strange, I don’t think he knows how him leaving would work.

The thing that can make moving on look positive is a longer contract. Remembering he has two years at $850k to go no matter what, to me it looks like he is being offered extra years at say, $650k. Hence, "I'm not taking a pay cut".

It's a complete strawman though, no one is asking him to take a paycut.

He got up at a presser and publicly, unprompted, said "if the club thinks I'm taking a paycut to go somewhere else, it's not happening." Maybe that's just his idea of small talk but it seems more likely that he's responding to something that's gone on behind the scenes that we aren't aware of. Owey's theory is completely plausible, as is the Knights simply asking if he'd be willing to take less to make a move easier regardless.

I don’t see how they’re already stacked with middles. I think he’s more likely he ends up in Penrith or the dragons
Tohu Harris and Dylan Walker will both be gone by the end of 2025.

Warriors have plenty of young guns coming through but Leo will be a massively attractive prospect - meanwhile for Leo/Tyrone they possibly get to return home and have the NZ Captain who has been the best prop in the game for years mentoring them, with said bloke sharing quite a few similarities to Leo being a quiet Maori man himself.

$850k if we are paying $200k to move him on we are replacing 2 players with $650k I don't get the value.
