I thought he was very good, and showed some real potential. Made some good tackles as well as a couple of errors.

I might be mad, but, has anyone else thought it would possible to put Lucas on the right winger? he used to be a winger.

He was our next wing/centre for 2 or 3 years.
He would have made his debut a year earlier but got injured and they gave the spot to Mapapalangi instead.
He only really changed to the forwards because he wasn't going to get a run in the backs.
He hasn't lost too much pace with the extra size he's put on, and I think he'd be the powerful ball returner we need.
Sadly, he isn't seen as a winger now, and we've signed half the wingers in Australia to try to replace Dom.

I still think we should revisit the Lucas to the forwards decision and have him train and play as a centre/winger.
He moved to the forwards because we had too many backs, but now we have more forwards than we need and we are one quality back short - and Lucas is a better back than a forward.

So he came into this year as a 7 game rookie and has now played 25 games.
Nathan Brown always said it took 3 pre-seasons and 50 games before players reach their full potential. He has had at least 3 firstgrade pre-seasons - maybe 4.
Its really hard to think of him as a rookie, but he kind of is.
One of the first picked every week now.

This after Dylan was cut by St George-Illawarra when he aged out of SG Ball (I’m pretty sure) as well. I think we’d twigged that there was something about him pretty quickly - he would have made his debut in 2022 but for injury - but I reckon he’s the classic case of a kid who had a lot of good physical attributes but not a specific thing which made him stand out.

I’m pretty sure we gave him a chance just because we liked the vibe of a dude who’d put his whole life in a station wagon to go and ask for one, and then yeah his standout abilities began to emerge, one of them being that he absolutely works his arse off by all reports.

But yeah it’s not a job I’d be keen on. To some extent your job is to hang out with teenagers and predict the kind of person they’re gonna be when they’re 25. Good luck with that!

A few weeks ago everyone (well most ) bagged him at centre. This week he killed it for a backrower. I think he is a great attribute.

I'm convinced that Lucas could be a 250 game rep quality backrow. He reminds me of players who started their careers modestly with a similar skillset who were able to become great players.

He could be an incredible player. He turned 24 in July. So really should be coming into his peak years as of now.

Would love to see him be more aggressive defensively. Hitting hard and winning the wrestle every time. And be super consistent with everything else. And he'd just about be my favourite player

Surely Friz moves to the middle next season. Just a waste of Lucas' talent if he's coming off the bench next season. Give him a couple years in the second row spot, and i think he'll be up there as one of the most promising backrowers in the game.
