My first instinct when I saw the team list was they don't want to drop him because he's been killing it and there just happened to be spot open up with Crossland out. Get all your best players in the squad and figure out how they fit later kind of thing. Particularly if it's only for one week.

Exactly, if people are worried about Sharpe’s defence in the middle, then how is bringing in Cogger for him going to fix anything?
 
I’ve got a feeling we’ll see Lucas come into the run on side with Friz off the bench. Then you’ve got 3 middles. Then Sharpe is there as an insurance policy in case we have any injuries in the backs or if we’re chasing the game late on throw him on as a wildcard. Given that we invariably have a benchie only play about 10 minutes every week, I don’t mind the idea of having a player like Sharpe on the interchange.

Read your above and think about it, it’s not what you say it’s how you say it, some of your comments would be acceptable after you have been on a while, your opinion is good, don’t change that, maybe say it in a slightly different way without being so direct.

Glad Ponga is back as long as he is sure he is right, Sharpe has done well in his absence along with Armstrong.
Not sure we need Sharpe on bench as Gagai could cover Ponga with Lucas at centre, would have been more confident if Sharpe had been named on ext bench.

If you don’t like my opinion, then don’t comment, it’s obvious a lot of people on here don’t like what I have to say. I will continue to have my opinion. It’s not a popularity contest.

Last week Brailey was named at 9 on Tuesday, dropped to the bench later in the week.

I wouldn't put too much faith in the Tuesday team sheet except for who is in the overall list.

Hell, Ponga might even drop out altogether and Sharpe comes in at 1 which could be another mind game causing the Raiders to do a lot of work on shutting Ponga down, only for him not to play at all. That would be coaching brilliance if he was putting this move on.

If Ponga does play, you would expect they have put him through several tests and training runs to ensure he is good to go.

His commentary gives me severe hemorrhoids. Great player, great analyst but his drivel, tangents and tantrums are seriously painful in the butt region.

I don’t get him commentating during games, we only get Fox coverage in NZ. But I like most of his opinions on Freddie and the Eighth and Immortal Behaviour, I think he’s on the money with most stuff. He’s also one of the few in the media that takes player welfare into account with high tackles etc, no doubt due to his experience in developing epilepsy, etc.

But I have to say both Andrew and Matthew have a terrible track record in talking up young players. You’d never recruit them as talent scouts, they are usually way off the mark.
