It's really not. The "new age" have somehow made everyone think this. It's a word thats innocuous.Seems to me you're looking for a fight and to call something champ is pretty insulting

I agree with Freddy and the eighth I enjoy that too but his live commentary is hard for me to listen to.I don’t get him commentating during games, we only get Fox coverage in NZ. But I like most of his opinions on Freddie and the Eighth and Immortal Behaviour, I think he’s on the money with most stuff. He’s also one of the few in the media that takes player welfare into account with high tackles etc, no doubt due to his experience in developing epilepsy, etc.
But I have to say both Andrew and Matthew have a terrible track record in talking up young players. You’d never recruit them as talent scouts, they are usually way off the mark.
I find most Fox commentary difficult to listen to. Most of them are still closely aligned to clubs they played with or coaches of teams that are their “mates”. Without doubt the worst is Ennis, followed by Anasta. Voss and Ginnane are drama queens who love the sound of their own voices and who obviously have no league background. Some of their comments are disrespectful to the players.I cant stand 9 commentary team and all the adds that come with it.
Matt Thompson is hard to listen to commentate although I do enjoy him on the podcast.
Fox League just do it better for me.
Prefer fox commentary myself , but have to agree with a lot of that . Particularly the bias!I find most Fox commentary difficult to listen to. That leaves Blocker and Cronk who at least provide realistic commentary on most occasions about the game and are capable of being unbiased.
It is really wonderful to have volume contriol on Saturday games where Fox is the only option.
any news on Lucas/Ponga/Sharpe?I cant stand 9 commentary team and all the adds that come with it.

Always good to see ponga named but very risky playing him on return early from injury in such cold weather down there. Surely would be better to wait til next week against a manly side without DCE, jurbo and olakau'atu.
I'm probably being over cautious lol. Either way I'm stoked he's back. After some good performances against some top 4 sides, ponga in the side could see us have our best finish and go deep into the finals for the first time in 20 yearsIf he is ready, he is ready! No point missing another game.
He would need to have passed various fitness tests etc to be named.
And that is if he even plays, I'm still suss on the mind games ploy from OB!
He could do the whole yeah just a bit of tenderness there in the captains run, so we rested him 1 more week.
He is injured. Can Armstrong play 9?
Ops I mean Sharpe... Mixing up my fullbacksHe is injured.
And he is a outside back not a forward lol.
Must admit, I use terms like ‘thanks champ!” as a term of respect to somebody, I generally don’t know but who does me a courtesy while I’m out and about…like .hold a door open, serve me a beer or something similarIt's really not. "It wasn't until I watched it on video ... everything that was good, he was sort of in and around it
"His anticipation and support play, but also his bravery and toughness, under the high ball.
Exciting!![]()
What role will Knights rookie Fletcher Sharpe play off the bench?
'We'll find a way to put them all in.'www.newcastleherald.com.au
Speculates that Sharpe will be used at lock in a Kurt Mann or Connor Watson like role.
Quotes O'Brien as saying that watching the replays he noticed that Sharpe was around everything good that happened and gives stats that show we have scored an average of 29.3 points with Sharpe in the side, and that includes games against Melbourne and Penrith.
Wonder what happens when Crossy & Brails are both fit
