I Suspect a lot of the churn is Wests learning HOW to run an NRL club. It's a whole new thing for them. Finally getting Peter Parr in will help this in a big way but Rome wasn't built in a day so we have to be patient.

We aren't like Tigers or Dragons where vested interests and board dysfunction are crippling their clubs. Wests are trying, it will just take time (unfortunately) to get there.
 
i flip flop here. I doubt Hasler will coach again and McGuire might make us better but equally could be worse. The injuries to key players is also so tough. Honestly I’m happy to put my faith in Parr and let him make the call either way. He knows what success looks like better than most.
 
Des wouldn’t move away from Manly to coach the Bulldogs, he’s not coaching a non-Sydney team.

Maguire did win a premiership, but we kind of have seen what you get from him, 1-3 seasons of intensity and effort depending on the players available, then severe and obvious burnout. I know we all think we want a harsh disciplinarian who’ll ride his guys with unwavering intensity, but I’m personally not a believer in that, especially if you’re looking to build long-term success. I know Bellamy has that reputation, but have a look at Storm social media stuff & on YouTube sometime, it really looks like a very happy and positive work environment to me.

I know the results haven’t been what we like, but it does seem to me that the playing group has bought in and by and large does back AOB. Contrast with Browny who’d well and truly lost everyone by this point. I’m definitely leaning towards keeping him now. Even if we did find the “right” coach now, as that Fox article turns out, we’ve had so much upheaval and change at all other levels of the club, so we’d be bringing said coach into an unstable environment where they’re set up to fail.

Let’s see us actually get some stability in the joint, and then evaluate how we’re going from there.
 
A hooker is absolute must, doesnt have to be as good as Brailey but must be better than Crosslands, can’t believe that those responsible can’t see the need.
Goal kicker would be a plus but must be 1st grade standard in general play
 
I mean, the coach isn’t gonna come out and publicly say “this kid has no idea what he’s doing and keeps ****ing up all our attacking sets”. That’s not gonna help matters. Phoenix is pretty much the only option atm with Kurt seemingly never fully fit, and seemingly every lower grade 9 either injured or recovering from injury. Making the best of a bad situation.

Well he is the head coach so he does have some say if not final say on who he wants in his squad of 30 players.

Our coach is a rookie, the years of experience as an assistant in well oiled machines with a bottomless amount of resources would not have prepared him for what he had on arrival at the Knights.

Rookie Coach + Rookie Owners = Large learning curve

No that’s definitely a huge part of it. You see how they lift against the Panthers and Broncos, almost get a result, and that’s good enough for them. They are happy with the glory of an almost-win vs a top team for the next month. Job done.

I'm willing to bet that a massive turn around for the team if we can land 2 or 3 natural leaders to add to the squad.

Players should also be under pressure but sticking with a coach for the sake of consistency makes no sense unless he's giving reason to believe he's the answer. 4 years in with no signs of an identity and a weekly struggle to get the bare minimum out of his team says that's not the case here.

I forgot about him but he has shown to be out of his depth numerous times. I had seen his interview on NRL 360 a few years and he made himself look stupid with some of his answers regarding Nathan Brown.
 
Crossland will be a very good backup hooker next year.
He has pretty much come into the hooker role this year with no experience and minimal training and he is doing OK. Our options this year were supposed to be Brailey and Mann, with Crossland maybe doing 20 minutes off the bench if Mann needed a rest.
Next year he will have a year of experience and I assume a full off season training mainly at hooker.
He isn't ideal this year, but next year he'll be as good as any 200k reserve grade hooker in the comp, so why would you replace him?
