Round 9 - Eels V Knights - Friday 28 April 6:00pm - ComBank Stadium

Tough one against Parra. I don't think Hodgeson is turning out that well for them and really missing Reed Marney. They are missing RCG also. But still plenty of quality players. And they always seem to play well at combank.

The last two close loses and Manly draw that we probably should have all won might come back and bite us.

Titans and Manly are at home, Cronulla at Coffs Harbour, so we should be a chance in all three I think. Put it this way, they should be easier than the Eels at CommBank (even though they’ve had their struggles this year too).
Sharks defence I feel will trouble us more then eels will. I expect us to win against Titans and Manly at home. As you HAVE to win your home games. If we have same attitude against eels as we had against Penrith (for the full 80 this time) then I reckon we can win it against eels. But we’ll have to execute everything at 100%.

Still resting Elliott I see. That's solves the who's going to be dropped / 14 role for the time being between Mann and Gamble.

I live in the Parramatta area and my neighbour was walking up and down the driveway in the villa complex we live in at least half a dozen times on the weekend wearing his Eels jersey. I just ignored him. I’m not going to say anything to him before the game.

I don’t have a good feeling about this game.

It appears to this week.

Personally I'd still prefer we went with Croker/Johns to lock with Mann 14 and the other of Croker/Johns to the bench so we aren't carrying the extra utility against a solid Parra pack.

I do also somewhat understand the angle that Gamble is better cover for any Ponga issues than Crossland/Mann, but I wouldn't be very happy is that reasoning keeps him in the side past this week.

If we turn up and play like we did against penrith we will beat the eels easily, however it's the knights and nobody knows if it's going to the the good, the bad or the ugly.

Parra haven't been going well at all, if we are fair dinkum this is a game we should win.

Tough to see us winning this one. AOB saying in the press conference there was too much back patting after the loss to Penrith … that sounds more like the Knights I know.

If this was at home I’d give us a chance, but not at CommBank.

No he didnt.

What he said was he didnt know if the squad listened to some of the back patting they got, meaning from external sources etc.

Eels have no trouble scoring points. That's my biggest concern, could turn into another points scoring fest and Parra will be able to go with us all the way if not outclass us.

It’s a lovely sunny day in Parramatta today, the forecast for 6pm here is partly cloudy and 23 degrees.

Cowboys getting dispatched 44-6 last night certainly puts into perspective how shocking we were last week …
I don't know if it does.

Cowboys were good last week, but last week for them is the outlier, however we were sub-par. I think how we respond this week against Parramatta who have been dreadful this season compared to last will be a more accurate reflection.
