How much longer can you take?

Honestly watching this team is just year after year of misery. You think they're making progress and they come back ten times worse than ever.

Do you think there is light at the end of the tunnel, and do you think you can make it to the light?

Yeah, unfortunately that light at the end of the tunnel is usually an on coming train for us blokes. But I'll be there next week.

Gotta say too, we have got a lot of things sorted off the field which will stand us in good stead in the medium term. A bit of luck with injuries would be good though.

Hmm apart from Brailey I don't think we were really too badly affected by injuries today. Nobody else crucial was out (well, maybe Clune, but that's more because there's zero depth in our halves than he's an exceptional talent).

That was a pretty decent side we ran out, plenty of rep experience ... no excuses on that front atm for me.

I feel like we are missing fitzy, brodie is a bit plod.

Barnett hasn't even been playing out wide ... but we should be able to cope with one or two decent players out? Particularly against the Dragons

Yeah agree, we should be able to cope especially against the dragons but for whatever reason it is we can't. This club has been like this for a long long time now, inconsistent and seem to lack heart.

I am really struggling to see this team improve and be a real threat in the future.

I’ve convinced myself that somewhere out there in one of the infinite different galaxies and universes that there’s a Newcastle Knights team that is actually good and doesn’t make me want to headbutt a rusty nail for 25 weeks a year.

The issue we have is that apart from KP we have no real creativity, the 6 and 9 are good solid players but you don't fear them with ball in hand. The strike players like Best/Gagai need space and time created for them and we just don't have that unless KP does it. For us to be a real threat we need strike from at least 3 members of our spine. Have a look at the top 5-7 sides.

Apart from the Warriors who have never won a premiership and the Eels who have not won since 1986, we are the next worst in terms of years since we last won a premiership.

We need to develop a team with strong team spirit, we are a long way from that now. We may need to make some hard decisions with our roster if some players don’t improve.

I’m used to us sucking. I find it gets easier with time. I paid good money for tickets and accommodation in Wollongong and found the game pretty enjoyable. Maybe I’m just numb from supporting this team for so long.

Will be at Marathon next week when the gates open aswell. Wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Some talk that those missing, injured/suspended wouldnt improve the team , Randall has been good but Brailey is better, Sue is ok but Barnett is better, Jones is ok/good but likely bench Thompson is better, Mann is good but a 14 where Sasagi has potential, Crossland is so so but Clune is better but not great, Tuala is good but if Lee plays left bring Hunt back on right wing.
All of those upgrades, in my opinion, are not necessarily ideal but better than what is currently playing,
1 Ponga, 2 Hunt, 3 Gagai, 4 Best, 5 Lee, 6 Clifford, 7 Clune, 8 Klem, 9 Brailey, 10 DSaf, 11 Frizell, 12 Thompson, 13 Sasagi, 14 Mann, 15 JSaf, 16 Barnett, 17 Jones/Fitz.
Leaving out Tuala, Crossland, Randall, Sue, Fitz/Jones
Those 5 left out are good backup with Thompson and Sasagi showing enough to warrant top 17 if not 13.
Have deliberately left Milford out at this stage

The knights triangle is all.

I’m not going anywhere but I have lost hope of making the 8 this year because of the way the team is performing. Some players like Klemmer are playing well, others are not playing at their best (the Saifitis) and Crossland is not first grade standard at present.
