Holy. I see an unexpected good start to the season has disrupted the wrist slashing on the game day thread, so we’ve moved it to here for compensation.
Yeh, he’s a knob head for what he did today, and he’ll be made an example of and punished accordingly by the NRL.
No one complains when he’s competing hard and firing the boys up, but we may as well bring back capital punishment today.
We’re even going back to the racism allegations that he was cleared of, when everyone was against Peachey, but now Barnett is guilty. Let’s hang him twice!

It's worth pointing out that he wasn't "cleared". The NRL found that there wasn't enough evidence to charge him. That's not the same thing.

That’s fair enough mate, I’ll cop that. It’s also worth pointing out that he wasn’t “found guilty” for the same reasons. It’s not the same thing to bring up that he’s racist either

I always backed Peachey with that, you don't just suddenly make an allegation like that and have that sort of reaction over nothing.

I think it’s a hard one they swear at each other non stop and in the grunting of a tackle Peachey certainly could’ve interpreted something else to what he said. Also from memory in the tackle nobody else looked at Barnett like he’d made a racist comment (which if he said what he was accused of you’d expect a reaction)

He was saying it to Peachey, not yelling it from the rooftops. That's usually how these things work, they don't have the courage to say it out in the open.
 
I think Barnett is a moron.

But I have accepted his work ethic as top grade material at our club. I feel he deserves to go for an extended period for his actions today, and I don’t want anyone jeopardising the season as he did today.

I don’t, however, see any reason to accept Peachy’s claims without proof. It wouldn’t hold up in court. Innocent until proven guilty has to prevail.

Evidence will win on today’s incident, as it should be.
 
"We" don't know this. None of us were on the field, sounnd effect mikes didn't pick anything up no other player's heard anything
One person's word against another, how can we possibly make judgement
 
Could have called him a fat c…. Which he is. The Barnett hate is overhype. Horrendous look these days. But a brain snap. He’s done plenty of good things for the club. Do his time, move on. You hav women bashers, drug traffickers, GBH convictions, have all played the game. He gave a bloke a cheeky shot to the face when he wasn’t looking, something that was part and parcel of footy.
