The pre-season thread - 2022

Brodie's got a lot of "game" he hasn't shown in firstgrade yet.
He's shown bits and pieces of it with a few try assists and crucial plays, but as one of the junior guys, he doesn't take the initative much yet.
If they gave him a regular spot and he got to work with a consistent group around him he'd start to make a few things happen.

Article saying Fitz is injury free and training well for the first time in 2 years.
Says Friz and Barnett are first choice second rows, but Fitz is close if we need to use Barnett in the middle - and Jones is another second rower.

Article also says Sue and Johns have both had issues after off season shoulder surgery but both should be back in the early rounds.
 
We have literally heard nothing about what Garth Brennan is up to with the reserve grade and under 21s squads.
I think the only player we have heard is there is Dylan Phythian.
Lots of guys have left - Zac Hosking, Fletcher Myers, Christian Ma'amania, Star To'a, Jacob Kizaz.

I suspect Brennan is running our best ever lower grades programme with probably 30 or more young players - many of them recruits we have never heard of.

You'd have to think Dylan Phythian, Zane Camroux, Mac Baker, Dylan Lucas, Chris Vea'ila, Krys Mapapalangi, Matt Croker, Mitch Black, Dan Ticehurst, Harry Croker, Max Buderus, Tevita Toloi, Max Bradbury, Mitch Henderson, Cooper Jenkins. Liam Wilkinson.

From what ive seen of Dylan Phythian id have him in first grade training for the 5/8 position he impressed me with what ive seen .
He has a huge boot on him too, not saying he would get it as im hoping Clune or Crossland step up and make it there's but Phythian could be worth a shot ..
 
A few guys have managed to play NRL with type 1 diabetes - that Brett Stewart guy for Manly was a top player for a decade - but it doesn't seem like a good idea.
