His track record so far has been a lot of injuries, especially with the way that he likes to play

And he is being asked to go into the poisoned challis of positions so it’s almost inevitable.

We would love to have everyone play every game but reality is not likely to happen is it

Well I mean, it's not even really about Randall either. It's about what happens if he can't manage the small task of playing every single game. Who's the next cab off the rank? We really gonna throw Mann or Crossland into hooker roles? Not if we're trying to avoid the spoon.

Ideally we sign someone & have Randall as the back up.
 
My memory might be playing tricks, but I think Randall was virtually injury free in reserve grade for a long time. He often didn't get a game because firstgraders got his spot, but rarely missed for injury - if at all.
In firstgrade he's had some broken bones at very bad times. I can't remember anything serious or longterm though.
Not many players manage a full season these days, but I can't see why Randall would be any less likely than anyone else.
 
Ok, having had time to take a breath after Bailey's injury, I wouldn't be panicking if I was Obi. We have been working on plans to fill holes in the roster, namely half and edge forward. Keep those plans going for sure. Tell Randall the spot is his and make keep it simple for him. As long as he is making his tackles and gets the ball to who it needs to get to, nothing changes. Our attack was going to be based wider then around the ruck anyway. I think you'll see Randy grow in to it with that backing as well. With those other spots strengthened and Brailey back for the end of year, I think we are all good.

Brailey wont play this season, its one of the worse injuries you can get
 
Obi should be planning a season without Brailey and if he makes it back then that’s a bonus. Randall is an ideal backup but moving him to starting 9 leaves us a bit thin. Mann as a coach’s fav will likely play some hooker as for Crosslands he has/can play 9 but that leaves our halves a bit thin.
Of course if we sign a half then we have a rethink about 9
 
I'm thinking Randall can't go the 80 minutes at NRL level consistently so Mann/Randall hooker combo.

I think Randall can go 80 in defence, but service certainly needs some attention.

Barnett to starting lock, Mann to bench, is the best outcome of this proposal, and should have been the plan with Brailey available.
Desperately still need that left edge forward.

Hopefully, the idea of Simi transitioning into the 13/14 role pays dividends. Not sure how this reshuffle will affect those plans.
 
I see Jack Johns is training in the Armidale camp photos.
He's a guy with the defence and passing skills and game awareness to fill in at hooker for a while. I don't know how many minutes he'd last, but he has the right skills.
 
Yeah & Johns seems a bit gumby in his movement. Just his body style. Definitely think he's got the potential to get better on the edge, but not as a hooker.
 
Surprising thing in the photos is Christian Maamania is back from Sydney and is looking really fit.
I saw his name in our fantasy list and thought it was an error - but looks like he is back.
