Dane Gagai

Whilst I won't say I am thrilled I won't say I am unhappy, his never injured which is a bonus and hopefully his not on huge money.

I see him as a Morris boys signing, someone to help bring younger guys through.
 
Hopefully Dane performances will be more consistent during this stint with the club.

It is clear that he genuinely wanted to return to Newcastle.

He will be better than Mann, he does not knock on a couple of balls a game and he is a vastly better player in attack.
 
Alleged asking price was $600K/3 years. We wouldn’t do that.

Souths would only offer one year.

Brisbane baulked at that price.

Dane expressed a preference to stay at Souths or go back to Newy.

Reading between the lines, my guess is somewhere around $450-500K.

If we get him for 450k, that's almost OK.
I was thinking he is worth 400k but will probably get 600k.
He'd basically be a straight swap for Edrick Lee for that money.

I'm stoked at this, love Dane and was devastated when he left us. He returns a more experienced and mature head than when he left, after playing around some fantastic players in a good club culture.

We now have the squad to bring out his best football, he was a standout for us in a terrible team and now he will be a solid player in a strong team.
