Knights signing an English player

Going to be interesting to see what he can do here. I wonder if this is Zammits first recruitment pick.

Its funny Brown came here with all this uk coaching knowledge and recruited zero uk players. Zammit arrives and one on the way already.

Ponga, Lee, Best, Young, Hunt, Green, Pearce, Looks good to me lol. I like big centre's.

Young, made his top grade debut for Huddersfield last season under former Newcastle assistant coach Simon Woolford
He must have been impressed how well his son developed here

We haven't had much luck with Englishmen. The ones I remember were Chris Joynt, Lee Jackson, Wardle and Was Foy played some lower grades in our early years. Miss anyone? Joynt looked the goods but did his knee. Jackson was the top rated hooker in the game when he joined us but misfired badly. Wardle never fired either. Dom could have a career here. Fingers crossed.

We signed Brian Carney from Wigan for a season in 2006 before he joined the Titans a year later who were rebooted into the comp.

It turned out to be a great signing as he scored 16 tries in 26 games and won Dally M Winger of the year.
Much better then some of the no frills outside backs Joey was throwing to 12 months earlier

Although I guess he was Irish but from the same comp

Carney was different, experienced not a young 18 without any experience
He may just be signed to have a year in reserve grade next season before a couple of years of firsts . He may be a monster that they cant leave out which would be good .
Tuala said he came here thinking he was playing reserve grade and look how he's going , he's left Moga and Shibasaki in his wake .
Young could do the same thing at 6'6" and 107kg he has the size to trouble any backline , even just a preseason with OBi will tell us i would think .

McKinnon saying he is known for his mobility and step despite being so big, and his attitude is also very good. McKinnon says he could have gone to English or French rugby but is coming to NRL to advance himself.
He ticks every box for mine - young, big, mobile, tough enough to have already played ESL, right attitude, ambitious - on the other hand, Cory Denniss ticked all those boxes at 18 too.

Yeah he definatly sounds good, he's 2 inches taller and 8kg heavier than Denniss.

Dominic Young Huddersfield Giants highlights on youtube , its not much but the kid has speed a step power and a chip and chase .

He looks great as an outside back, although he has that physique similar to Tupouniua from Roosters. I think he’d kill it in the backrow in a few years.

Two big boys like him and best on either side of the park is a nice thing to think about. Doubt he will be an auto inclusion, unless he earns it!

Offering a three year deal to me seems they are interested in investing in his development and setting him up to succeed rather then throw him in when he is not ready.

People thought Shibs on a three year deal deal was an eyebrow raiser and while he doesn’t need to be an origin centre he does the job for us and three years isn’t anywhere near as nuts as people first thought so I can live with this one too.
