Canberra last year went with fit, mobile forwards as a rule and the results were there for all to see. I'm beginning to think Jones might play a significant role going forward.latest photos show some of the forwards are shedding significant weight I think. Jones, Saulo and Fitzgibbon all look like they have been to Jenny Craig in the last few weeks.
Don’t know where else to ask this but is our 2020 jersey available yet? Just donated my Tinkler/Bennett era Hunter Ports home jersey to the charity bin. It is riddled with bad luck and 2020 is going to be a collectors jersey for sure once we’ve won the comp!
Sweet. Thanks mate.I went in last week and got some cheap hats and a singlet with the 50% off sale, she said the new stock hasnt arrived yet but should this week.
“You’ve got to impress, I think that’s how all the players are,” he said.
“Whenever that happens it’s going to be a big thing for all the players to impress, because it’s a level playing field.
“Everyone’s fighting for position and trying to leave a good mark on the coach.”
Those quotes from Jones highlight the big difference between last year and hopefully this year.
Jones is basically saying everyone is having a crack because they feel they can earn a chance this year.
It was very clear under Brown that guys like Mann and Ramien were told before they put pen to paper that they were getting an armchair ride to firstgrade, which meant that other players knew they could train the house down and they still weren't getting a look in.
Interview with Jones on the Knights site.
Am I the only one who thinks he looks and even speaks a bit like Magilla Gorilla?
Supplementary question. Am I the only one old enough to remember Magilla Gorilla?
That's what is said every pre season...Every single year they say the same thing . For the first 13 or so games last year we showed we were as fit as anyone.Glasby said most of the players were a bit shell shocked how hard the sessions are. In other words we haven't been training anywhere near hard enough to compete with the big guns and when you watch the last couple of years that's obvious.

Infact for that 7 game winning streak we looked and showed that we were fitter than a lot of teams because they couldn't keep up with the pace we played at ...
Imo when we went to pieces it had nothing to do with fitness and don't we have the same fitness coach , if we weren't fit enough then shouldn't he be the first one out the door .
Gomer Pyle ...Rock Hudsons boy friend how many womens hearts broke when it came out he was gay half the women in the world were crazy about Hudson and I think sea levels rose from all the tears lol..Geez Billy - I can go back to Magilla Gorilla, Bat Fink, Top Cat....hell I can go back to 'Phantom Agents' and 'The Samurai'
And I had him pegged more as Sergeant Carter out of Gomer Pyle

I will believe it when I see it and have to say in that 7 game winning streak and the 6 or so games we lost by 10 points all up , we didn't look fatigued in any of those games and we warmed up the same as at the back end of the year .There's a few on here that thought our warm up was too long because of how fatigued we look so early in a game. Plenty mentioned our inability to handle fatigue. Might be the same fitness coach but there's absolutely no doubt O'brien's implementing stuff the players haven't seen before.
I agree that we here the same talk every year but the difference this year is our sessions will resemble Storm/Rooster sessions and that has to be a step up.I will believe it when I see it and have to say in that 7 game winning streak and the 6 or so games we lost by 10 points all up , we didn't look fatigued in any of those games and we warmed up the same as at the back end of the year .
Are we focussing on defence this pre season?
So you're warming up for a 800m sprint. By choice would you run 400m to warm up. Or jump up and down on the spot and stretch? We are warming up for at least 30 mins then try to go out and play 80 minutes of football. I'm sorry but if you see no logic in that then I can't help ya.I roll my eyes every time I see that comment lol. Warm ups too long. Gimme a break.
Oppositions spend just as long warming up and we still lose.
Never heard a player, coach or anybody ever say geez it was a close game, just warmed up a little long there and that got us.
At the games I went to last season the opposition teams didn't warm up nearly as much as us not even close .I roll my eyes every time I see that comment lol. Warm ups too long. Gimme a break.
