Knights release Jesse Ramien

People see what they wanna see. I watched up to h/t before I got bored and watched a Knights replay. He wasn't impressive. He's young and hot n cold. Looks like he has good promise.

Made a few teams of the week. Also NRL nominee for Centre of the week. Not bad. Will only get stronger and stronger if he retains his spot with Sharks. At half time of the two games I’ve seen this year with Jesse starting, the Fox pundits (Gaz in particular) is astonished he’s leaving sharks and can’t speak highly enough of us snagging him. Another great pick up. Yes he’s learning. If he comes here and learns like Ponga is still learning, than happy days!!!

He is a gun. Sure he is learning but from what I have seen, he is a very handy pickup and should slot straight in to our 1st grade side next year. Brown probably promised him 1st a shot at centre anyway to get him here. Not like we have a gun centre, Moga is ok but certainly not a gun, Sione likewise.

I'd be playing Moga on the wing outside Ross, with Ramien on the other side inside SKD.

If any of our reserve backs was any good they would be pushing for a spot centre to wing so not much in likes of Cronan, Denniss, Hughes, Naden etc so don't see them being around next year, also have my doubts about Moga making it back fit and well so we need more than Ramien coming here to be extra competitive. Meaney is best of reserve backs but injured.

You'd expect it'll be a while before a decision on Moga's future will be announced.

I hope he can get back his fitness and show us why we signed him in the first place, but geez it's a worry.

I don't know enough about the backup options to make a strong case for one or the other, no doubt we'll get to see a couple in action by seasons end.

If Wighton gets cleared to play again surely he has to be a prime target.

He is also getting an op on his bad knee to strengthen it, so its a blessing in disguise as they are not happy with his last operation.

Hopefully he comes back bigger and stronger in a couple years!

Surely he will be back next year?

Wouldn’t be surprised if he did call it a day. 3 full knee recos already and now having both done at same time. Despite how dumb he can be on the field he has obviously got some amazing mental strength to continue getting through rehabilitation and back into the field:

As I see it the biggest thing about his injury is it happened without any real pressure or hit such as a tackle, went over for a try and bingo comes up hurt. Now 3rd time at young age, he has serious problems to get back

He stepped inside and that's when it went. You can do acls just running so it doesn't surprise me how easy it went considering he has had a couple in the past.

They need to lay off the gym doing diehard sessions. Lighter sessions daily keep the body stretched. Stretching and warm-up are the most important part of game day. I just feel warm up is too long for fatigue reasons.

The one he done on the weekend was the knee that hadn’t had one before. He has had 3 in the same knee in the past. This is the first time on the other leg.

Just on Ramien; my brother is a huge Sharks supporter. I trust his opinion on football and players more than anyone else’s if I don’t have a complete opinion of my own. Even if I do, I’m always open minded to his thoughts and opinions. He’s extremely knowledgeable (extensive background) and we often see things the same way.

Anyway, we were talking about Curtis Scott the other day and how good of a young centre he is. Has all the makings to be a future NSW centre, maybe even as soon as next season. That was another good young centre Sharks lost. That was kind of a segway into Ramien, who he thinks may actually have a brighter future than Scott, which is really saying something IMO as Scott’s all class – he’s a sure bet.

That’s as big of a wrap on Ramien as I’ve heard, because: 1) my brother really knows his stuff, and 2) we’re both 100% on the Scott bandwagon.
