Off contract options

Sio's one of those $150k players that does a job that lets you sign your marquee's. Would be happy to see him named each week.

It'd be great if he can score more of his tries closer to the posts, little bit rude asking Ponga to keep lining up sideline conversions :giggle:

In all seriousness though, until someone comes kicking down the door demanding selection based on form there aren't any compelling reasons to drop Sio.
He's a bit like McManus was, quietly goes about his business, reliable and consistent.

Ross and Sio are working well together. I owe the dawg an apology because I never rated him in the centres but he's doing a fine job.

Wonder if Milne could be an option? There'd be a 12-week wait while he serves his suspension, but if he sorts his issues out could be a handy pick up.

Wests Tigers sack Milne after positive test

Wests Tigers centre Taane Milne has been sacked by the club for a second contravention of the NRL's illicit drugs policy.

Milne's two-year contract with the joint venture, which was only signed in June last year, has been terminated immediately, with an automatic 12-match NRL suspension to be served before the 22-year-old would be permitted to return to the game.

A Fijian international with five caps to his name, Milne arrived at Concord after two seasons and 18 games at St. George Illawarra and time in the Roosters lower grades.

A Wests Tigers statement said Milne's first infringement was at a rival NRL outfit, while the club says it will provide him with appropriate counselling and support.

"After due process and full consideration, and in collaboration with the NRL's Illicit Drug Policy guidelines, the club has made the decision to terminate Milne’s playing contract," the statement read.

"His behaviour contradicts the values, behaviours and culture being created at the club."

Yeah I don't think anyone hates Sio or says he's bad. If there are people like that then they're just dumb. It was just that last year Ross & SKD were threats with the ball whereas Sio is just safe. No one can question his place in the side right now though, with Ross in the centres, Sio is clearly the next best option on the wing at this point. And going off form so far this year, Sio has an argument of pushing ahead of Ross in the wing pecking order anyway, Ross is lucky Moga went down.

It's a funny system isn't it

The sporting version of musical chairs. Get caught with your stash, sit out the next 12 rounds and swap seats...
Zane Tetevano plays on as if nothing's happened despite his violent past and telling a Judge he has no desire to return to the toxic NRL environemnt and Matt Lodge is boooooeed every touch of the ball. Not for 1 second defending Matt Lodge but it seems there's always another chance no matter how bad a player ucks fup.

I don't mind Tetevano, I forgot about that comment but it still p*sses me off. Yeah the NRL is the reason for your violent crimes, ignore the 90% of players who are clean skins, why you back in the NRL then? Guess he got tired of working in the real world for less money. Hopefully he's realized by now how good he has it & how wrong he was.

So are we paying anyone else other then Hodkinson this year? Or is that it from before Brownies time?

It is known as rehabilitation Beaumont, and even if it does not work sounds great to the PC lefties!

Don’t have an issue with them playing with another club provided it’s basically their last warning, just don’t want them here.

Even Tetevano was banished to reserves and bide his time for two years before returning to the roosters, after playing reserve grade, if he has turned things around in that space of time and basically doesn’t reoffend for the rest of his nrl career then good for him for turning it around. Same goes for Lodge.

What does annoy me is guys who constantly waste away their talents like Albert Kelly who know they shouldn’t drink but do, and Todd carney although he is back now so we will see.
