Rothfield is reporting that the Knights have approached two young grand final heroes on big money offers for 2018. Any guesses who they are? Valentine would be one...
Just read this on F/Book.. It was reported through the season that Holmes wants to play Fullback maybe we are a chance ....

I read this morning that he said it was Holmes and Bird from the Sharks... Would be nice to get both of them, but, I think the Sharks are already looking at wrapping both of them up long term. At least we have the money to approach a couple of good, higher profile, players anyway...

If we have the money to offer both of them then maybe we can out bid the Sharks for one of them ....It was in the paper that the sharks had 16 players off contract and 4 mill to secure them with does'nt seem possible especially when most will want upgrades now ....I don't think Brown would go after them if he didn't have the money and a plan . I also read that Holmes and Bird are friends with mooney.

Ben Matulino is expected to depart the Warriors to make room in the salary cap for Ex-Parramatta captain Kieran Foran. It is understood that the Warriors are set to sign star five-eighth and Kiwi International Kieran Foran and Matulino is believed to be told he is free to look elsewhere to free up salary cap space for Foran’s signing.
There are reports that four clubs are interested in Matulino who is contracted to the Warriors until the end of the 2017 season. Manly, Newcastle, St George-Illawarra and South Sydney are all believed to have made contact with Matulion’s management... Don't know how old this is if he,s signed with someone get rid of it ...

Those guys like to win. I find it weird they would sign here. We are a fair way off consistent winning. So I'll say it's BS. please prove me wrong haha.

Matulino was a performer for the Warriors up front, not sure why he got so stale this year. Must be the Warriors bro culture. Could do well elsewhere with a change.

The Sharks will probably get rid of some of the old heads to keep the young guys. Also this is why I hate our current free agency situation when you can sign players well over a year in advance.

Wardle has apparently been told he can have an early release if and when Huddersfield signs a centre to replace him.

Mamo is still being talked about as going to Huddersfield, but no one seems to be talking about Randell now.
The last thing Randell said (that I've seen) is that he wants to stay and will fight for his position. I'd like to see him stay, and I think he'd get plenty of firstgrade opportunities as our 3rd choice hooker and with Kostjaysyn being a utility who could be used in other positions. At worst, Randell is a good squad player who can cover a lot of positions in reserve grade.

Simon Woolford signing as reserve grade coach might make a big change for Randell.
Woolford was a very aggressive hooker who got very involved and nasty. Randell needs to get a bit of that into his game - as does Levi.
Watching Canberra NYC earlier this year I noticed Simon's son, Zac Woolford, was their best player and a hooker who had a hand in everything. I had a look at his contract status, and he is signed for Canterbury for the next 2 years.

Here's hoping that we can get Wardle for next year seeing as though our backline depth is slim. I'd like to see:

1. Ross
2. Pete
3. Gagai
4. Wardle
5. Elliot

Our back-row is stocked now and we're still chasing Bird so it's hard to see Wardle slotting in there.

On us chasing Holmes and Bird for 2018, let's just hope they really like money and wooden kitchen utensils  but seriously I'd love to have both of them here, they're guns. Our back-line would look awesome:

1. Holmes
2. Ross
3. Gagai
4. Bird
5. Pete/Elliot/new buy

I'd like to see Ross given a good crack at fullback too. For me;

1 Ross
2 Gagai
3 Pete or Sione
4 Wardle
5 Chanel or Pete (depending on where Sione plays)

I still think there will be at least one more outside back signed by 2017, which will change this though

I think wardle will help tighten our defence from centre

! Holmes
2 Gagai
3 Bird
4 Pete/Wardle
5 Ross
6 Mullen
7 Hodkinson
8 Matalino
9 Kostjyson
10 D Saifiti
11 Sione
12 Burher
13 Barnett

14 J Saifiti
15 Levi
16 PauliPauli
17 Mataora
This team would win a few more games I reckon..1 more f/rower would be good too.

My neighbour turns out to be brenton horwoods dad and he just turned up whilst I was having a beer with his dad. Said a return isn't off the cards but his enjoying his footy atm.

Well in the immediate future 2017 we require another centre. Any team depending on Pete's defence is doomed.....doomed I say.

I agree Ethan with Mitch Barnett at 13. He has got the bulk and some speed to handle centre of the ruck.

Does Mitch have the d to handle middle just yet? I guess it's just experience he needs. Its a race for either Korbin or Mitch for lock.
